Abstract
The invention relates to the field of electrical engineering. A lighting power supply circuit comprises a power source, a voltage converter, a storage battery, and a load. According to a first embodiment, the storage battery, the voltage converter and the load are connected to the positive and negative outputs of the power source, wherein the storage battery and the load are electrically connected to one another in series, and the voltage converter is connected to the junction between the storage battery and the load. According to a second embodiment, the load is connected to the positive and negative outputs of the power source, the voltage converter is connected only to the storage battery and the load, and the storage battery is connected only to the voltage converter. In a normal lighting power supply mode, the voltage converter restricts the charge voltage to the storage battery to an acceptable level for charging the storage battery, and in the event of an absence of current at the output of the power source, the voltage converter increases the voltage from the storage battery to the load to a level sufficient for normal functioning of the load. The invention makes it possible to simplify a power supply circuit in that a voltage converter also performs the function of a charging/discharging device for a storage battery.
