Definitions
- the invention relates to a surface covering element for protection against bullet and / or projectile effects, in particular for shooting ranges and / or shooting ranges, according to the preamble of claim 1. It also relates to a surface with bullet and / or projectile effects according to the preamble of claim 13.
- shooting ranges or shooting ranges i.e. open spaces or rooms that are intended for the use of firearms, in particular shooting ranges for handguns.
- shooting ranges or shooting ranges i.e. open spaces or rooms that are intended for the use of firearms, in particular shooting ranges for handguns.
- use in similar environments as well as other environments exposed to the effects of fire and / or projectiles and for corresponding areas can also be provided.
- Wall coverings in shooting ranges usually have to meet several requirements. They should absorb sound, safely absorb projectiles and reduce the risk of rebounding or ricochets and have decorative properties. Easy cleaning of the surface of these materials must be ensured. They should be flame-retardant or, better still, non-flammable, withstand impact loads, be easy to assemble and easily replaceable on the wall and possibly also on the ceiling of a room used for shooting. In addition, used or badly damaged clothing materials must be able to be recycled well, as well as harmlessness with regard to pollution caused by emissions of pollutants into the air or when they come into contact with the skin.
- a corresponding wall covering or a corresponding cladding of the wall, floor and ceiling is to be carried out in accordance with the so-called shooting range guideline, in particular calculated from the respective shooting position in the direction of the bullet trap (shooting direction).
- claddings for walls and ceilings consist of wood or wood wool panels, various rubber granules and / or plastic panels, each of which is able to absorb projectiles and / or their kinetic energy. As a rule, these materials are normal to flame retardant. Plate materials that are also used, such as non-combustible expanded glass or foam glass plates and various products made of mineral wool, typically allow the projectiles to penetrate well. However, they only have a very low retention capacity for ricochets reflected by hard wall components lying behind them. Therefore, they have to be reinforced, for example, with additional internal layers made of aluminum or other materials.
