Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a jewel in particular provided with an ornamental insert, such as for example a gem, made of stone or other material of particular aesthetic value.
  • the present invention relates in particular to a ring, equipped with an ornamental insert in the form of a gem set.
  • Jewels are known having resolvable hooking systems, suitably housed in the setting and capable of making the respective ornamental insert replaceable.
  • the jewels of this type are particularly appreciated given their versatility and ability to adapt to the various ornamental needs without necessarily having to provide for the entire replacement of the jewel itself.
  • the known resolvable hooking systems generally consist of a pair of magnetic plates of opposite charge and respectively constrained to the base of the insert and inside the compartment defined by the setting.
  • the magnetic hooking systems are subject to wear and, over time, the plate material gradually loses its magnetic capacity with the consequent risk of involuntary detachment of the insert from the seat of the setting.
  • the attraction force may not be sufficient to anchor inserts of very high weight with respect to the dimensions of the magnetic plates.
