Abstract
A holding comb, comprising overlapping spliced tines can be pushed into a strand of hair just above the scalp to relieve it from tension during the otherwise painful combing out of tangles.
Description
Holding Comb for the Painless Detangling of Strands of Hair.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Combing out tangles in hair is a drama in many families because especially children with long hair perceive it as painful.
PRIOR ART
W01997011622A2 discloses a holding device for hair, which works with a telescoping double comb. It is meant to hold hair straightener while dyeing, which the hair- dresser usually does between two fingers.
However, the handling requires a lot of skill and training and is therefore unsuitable for private use.
Combs with split teeth are known for fixing hair, dressed in chignon style, wherefore otherwise combs with ondulated tines may be applied.
Other combs that could secure hair against training single strands of hair are sofar not known.
TASK OF THE INVENTION
The object therefore is to find an easy-to-use holding device for hair strands, which compensates for the painful train when combing entangled hair.
SOLUTION
A solution was found with doubling two combs with splayed teeth (which otherwise were used to fix up hairpieces) - with an offset of one half distance of the teeth, or ar- ranging split teeth overlapping each other similarly in one comb.
The result might quite easily be inserted into a strand of hair from one lateral side and as easily be torn out again, however hardly be moved in a direction along to the hair, thus also blocking the tear on single strands For this purpose, the teeth are arranged so, that they overlap.
In addition, the comb is provided with a protruding handle, by which strands of hair can be held tight.
In case of single-handed combing of entangled strands, a non-slip cover for the handle prevents the comb from slipping off, if deposited on dressed hair.
This may happen, when temporarily laying it down, instead of tiresome holding the comb permanently overhead.
The non-slip material may e.g. be an outside open-pore plastic foam, which sheathes the handle, so that the holding comb can temporarily remain lying on the hair to be combed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENT BASED ON THE DRAWINGS
Fig. 1 shows a holding comb (1) according to the invention with a protruding handle (2) and two-legged, spread teeth (3 to 9) made of elastic material, which partially overlap.
Drawing Fig. 2 shows somre of the overlapping tines (10, 1 1 and similar) with a hair tress stuck in it (12).
Claims
1. A holding comb for detangling matted strands of hair, wherein the teeth are
designed as double arches.
2. A holding comb as to claim 1 , wherein the spreading of the teeth results from their division centrally along the longitudinal axis and bending it open
3. A holding comb as to claim 1 , wherein the teeth are made of each two oppositely arched bows of plastic or metal wire, joined at their common tip and at the holding bracket.
4. A holding comb as to claim 1 and 2, wherein the double teeth overlap partially with the next one in row.
5. A holding comb as to claim 1 to 3, wherein the double teeth are made of elastic plastic, e.g. hard PVC, by 3D-printing.
6. A holding comb as to claim 1 to 4, wherein a handle is attached laterally, or at the top side of the bracket bar of the comb.
7. A holding comb as to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein a sheath of non-slip material, e g. open-pored foam material, is pushed over the handle to provide some hold against slipping off, if the comb is simply deposed on dressed hair.
