Definitions

  • the present invention relates generally to a shampoo composition. More specifically, the present invention provides a rinse-free shampoo composition that exhibits excellent hair cleansing activity, while being devoid of alcoholic solvents.
  • Shampoos form an essential part of daily routine for cleansing hairs and removing dirt and germs present on the scalp.
  • Shampoo compositions can be broadly classified into two types: a) shampoo compositions that require rinsing with water (also known as “wet shampoo”) to remove the lather along with dirt and b) rinse-free shampoo compositions that do not require rinsing, but generally wiped with a soft cloth.
  • wet shampoos are quite efficient, while they require the use of water, which is not feasible for several sections of persons like those who are bed-ridden or hospitalized. Further, wet shampoo compositions generally contain alcohol and other harsh chemicals, which can cause hair dryness and are as such harmful. Moreover, wet shampoos are often required to be used in conjunction with some conditioners, which give the hair a shiny look and help in maintaining the pH balance of the hair.
  • Rinse-free shampoo also known as dry shampoos
  • rinse-free shampoo are a great way to reduce or preclude use of water in in hair maintenance. Since no water is required, rinse-free shampoo can be used even by people living in areas where water is scarce, including campers, backpackers, defense personnel in remote areas, and the like.
