Abstract

L'invention concerne du verre mince qui trouve une application croissante dans les stratifiés. Cependant, les procédés de traitement classiques présentent des inconvénients lorsqu'ils sont appliqués à un verre très mince. La présente invention concerne un procédé amélioré de bombage et de stratification de couches de verre mince. La présente invention permet à de multiples feuilles ou couches de verre mince d'être empilées sur un seul moule. Une plaque de pression de surface complète mâle, comprenant une feuille bombée de verre plus épais, est placée sur les feuilles de verre mince. Au fur et à mesure que le verre est chauffé, la masse ajoutée de la plaque de pression aide au bombage. La plaque de pression peut également être utilisée dans le processus de stratification pour empêcher les rides au cours de la stratification. La plaque de pression est constituée d'une composition de verre ayant un point de transition vitreuse plus élevé que le verre mince de telle sorte que la plaque de pression ne se ramollisse pas ou ne se déforme pas lorsque le verre mince est bombé. La plaque de pression est formée par des procédés classiques de bombage de verre.
