Abstract

The present invention relates to a highly accurate wireless positioning method and device whereby: the strength of at least one signal transmitted from at least one fixed node is measured; the relative position of a mobile node is estimated; a variation pattern of at least one signal strength according to the relative change in position of the mobile node across multiple time points is generated from the at least one signal strength and the relative position of the mobile node; and the absolute position of the mobile node is estimated on the basis of a comparison between the variation pattern of the at least one signal strength and a map of a signal strength distribution pattern at an area in which the mobile node is positioned. Thus, the position of the mobile node may be accurately estimated even when a wireless environment changes, and the position of the mobile node may be accurately estimated across a wide area by using a wireless signal exhibiting almost no change in signal strength.
