Description

Soil conditioner and method for producing the same Technical field
The invention relates to a soil conditioner comprising of a mixture of organic manure with oil shale industrial solid residue and/or soil improvement substance. Furthermore the invention relates to the method for producing of the soil conditioner. As the components of the soil conditioner are completely natural, it can be classified as organic fertilizer.
Prior Art
The main problem with the current situation of soil is pollution as a result of use of synthetic fertilizers, lack of phosphor, acid soil (low pH level) and low level of the needed micro elements such as manganese. Especially the problem is with the organic production - synthetic fertilizers are forbidden for organic production and the farms have to use crop circulation in order to increase the nutrition levels of the soil. Accordingly there is a need for a soil conditioner which eliminates these deficiencies. Furthermore the invention is a good solution of taking into usage of industrial oil shale solid waste which is a residue in power plants using oil shale.
Estonian patent No. EE 03251 B1 (published on December 15, 1995) discloses a method for processing a semi coke of oil shale and/or oil shale and residue sediment into a fertilizer soil. This method comprises mixing of semi coke of oil shale and/or oil shale with cellulose comprising substances, such as peat. In one embodiment the invention also discloses mixing of semi coke of oil shale with henhouse's waste products.
PCT International Patent Publication No. WO2005063655 A2 (published on July 14, 2005) discloses an organic-mineral fertilizer. The mineral and organic components of the fertilizer are put in a composition, whereas said organic components consist mainly of shale oil and ground oil shale, processed in acid, and/or a compost of ground semi-coke and organic waste.
Chinese patent No. CN102701842 B (published on March 5, 2014) discloses a biodegradable fermentation of phosphate fertilizer and its preparation method, wherein the product comprises inter alia shale or mountain soil and dry chicken manure.
Chinese patent application No. CN105542790 A (published on May 4, 2016) discloses a soil conditioner made from oil shale semi coke charcoal under thermal treatment and auxiliary biological matter.
None of the prior art documents describe the mixture of organic manure having natural moisture with oil shale ash as a result of combustion and a mixture or any other soil improvement substance.
Summary of the invention The invention relates to a soil conditioner and the method for producing the same wherein all nutrients remain in the product so this product can be classified as a fertilizer. Because of the fact that this product is completely natural it can be classified as an organic fertilizer.
Raw materials to be used as a mixture with organic manure having natural moisture are oil shale ash (which is result of burning of the oil shale) or soil improvement substance, such as lime (calcium carbonate). The oil shale ash and the soil improvement substance can be also mixed with each other and then mixed with organic manure. These raw materials have a molecule structure which allows when mixing them with the manure to stabilize it and are binding the moisture of manure. The manure to be used are poultry excrements.
After sterilizing the mixture it is free from all bacteria and is ready to be used as a commercial organic fertilizer or soil conditioning product especially in the field of organic farming.
The product improves greatly the pH of the soil (making it less acid) and brings especially phosphorus into the soil not to forget the other typical components and micro elements which are also crucial for the growth. A typical NPK value of the product is: Nitrogen (N) 2,5 g/t, Phosphorus (P) 2,5 g/t, Potassium (K) 2,5 g/t. The mixture contains Manganese (Mn) roughly 300 g/t and is rich with other micro elements and the product prevents efficiently the growth of plant diseases. When using this product, farmers can use all his production area for commercial crops and this will increase the production area from 50% to 100%.
The product will be granulated or left in a powder form so the spreading of the product can be done by placing the fertilizer during planting of the seed or simply by a spreader on the top of the field.
This product works efficiently as a re-circulator of phosphor which is one of the most endangered raw materials and vital for the photo synthesis process.
Preferred embodiments of the invention
The soil conditioner of the invention comprises of a mixture of organic manure with oil shale industrial solid waste and/or soil improvement substance, wherein the manure comprises poultry excrements having natural moisture, preferably the excrements being of hen's. Oil shale industrial solid waste is oil shale ash which is a result of bed boiler combustion of oil shale and soil improvement substance comprises lime. The invention also discloses a method for producing the soil conditioner by mixing organic manure with oil shale industrial solid waste and/or soil improvement substance, wherein the manure comprises poultry excrements having natural moisture, preferably the excrements being of hen's, and oil shale industrial solid waste is oil shale ash obtained by a bed boiler combustion process of oil shale and soil improvement substance comprises lime.
Accordingly to the invention, the oil shale ash is obtained from a combustion process of bed boiler combustion process at temperature between 750 °C to 950 °C, preferably approximately at 900 °C. The oil shale ash is a residue of a combustion process in power plants. Combustion process having a further increased temperature results in glassification of the molecules of the ash which inhibits the absorption of moisture of the excrements.
In an embodiment the organic soil conditioner produced comprises organic manure in the range of 55 to 65 mass%, preferably 60 mass% and oil shale ash in the range of 45 to 35 mass%, preferably 40 mass% of the mixture. In a further embodiment the organic soil conditioner produced comprises organic manure in the range of 55 to 65 mass%, preferably 60 mass% and lime in the range of 45 to 35 mass%, preferably 40 mass% of the mixture.
In yet another embodiment the organic soil conditioner produced comprises organic manure in the range of 55 to 65 mass%, preferably 60 mass% and the oil shale ash in the range of 22,5 to 17,5 mass%, preferably 20 mass% and the lime in the range of 22,5 to 17,5 mass%, preferably 20 mass% of the mixture.
As a result of mixing of the ingredients of the soil conditioner produced there will be a reaction wherein the moisture of the excrements binds into the mixture. The mixture is placed into a container for approximately three weeks under room temperature for stabilizing.
The soil conditioner as a mixture can be in the form of granules or powder. The mixture, during granulation or powdering process, will be further dried at approximately 200 °C and as a result the mixture having approximately 8% moisture. The mixture as a ready to use commercial product will be further sterilized at approximately 70 °C for approximately for an hour.
Modifications to embodiments of the present disclosure described in the foregoing are possible without departing from the scope of the present disclosure as defined by the accompanying claims.
