Abstract

The present invention relates to a refrigerator comprising a freezer compartment (2) in which food to be frozen are placed, and a cooler compartment (3) maintained at a higher temperature than the freezer compartment (2), in which the food to be cooled are placed. The refrigerator further comprises a fast cooling compartment (8).

Description

A REFRIGERATOR COMPRISING A FAST COOLING COMPARTMENT
The present invention relates to a refrigerator comprising a fast cooling compartment.
Generally the cooler compartment is preferred for cooling the drinks. Since cooling takes time in the cooler compartment, the freezer compartment is used when fast cooling of the drinks is desired. When the cooled container is forgotten in the freezer compartment, the drink and even the container comprising the drink becomes damaged. Therefore, drinks are preferred to be cooled in the cooler compartment which is warmer than the freezer compartment. However, it takes a long time to cool the drinks in the cooler compartment, without being able to meet instantaneous cold drink demand of the user.
In the state of the art special mechanisms are present, developed for fast cooling of cans or bottles placed in the cooler compartment, using cold fluids or a fan directing cold air on a bottle.
In the refrigeration mechanisms of the state of the art, the drink containers are placed in a bearer, and the drink container is cooled rapidly by said bearer being rotated rotating the container. In such applications, the bearer also generates a thermal load and additional energy needs to be consumed for cooling thereof.
State of the art United States patent no. US7343748 discloses a refrigerator comprising a fast cooling compartment placed in the cooler compartment, rotating about its own axis, on which cold air is blown by a fan, and in which the bottle to be cooled is placed.
The aim of the present invention is to realize a refrigerator comprising a fast cooling compartment enabling fast cooling of the food and drinks placed in the cooler compartment.
The refrigerator realized to achieve the aim of the present invention and disclosed in the first aim and the dependent aims comprises a freezer compartment and a cooler compartment. The refrigerator further comprises a fast cooling compartment having a body placed in the cooler compartment, an evaporator provided behind the body, a fan distributing the cold air in the body by being provided behind the body, and a control unit enabling activation of the evaporator when desired and/or deactivating thereof after completion of a period of time determined by the user and/or the producer.
In an embodiment of the invention, the body is covered by an insulation unit in order to prevent the temperature of the fast cooling compartment from being decreased immediately by the temperature of the cooler compartment.
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator comprises a cover enabling access into the fast cooling compartment.
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator comprises guides provided on the side walls of the body, and a tray placed on the guides. The guides have a telescopic rail form. The telescopic rails are connected to the cover by means of a coupling member. Thus, the telescopic rails move automatically when the user opens the cover, and the tray comes out.
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator comprises an ice making unit suitable for being placed in the fast cooling compartment. By this, ice can be made in the cooler compartment as well as the freezer compartment.
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator comprises at least one door enabling access into the cooler compartment and/or the freezer compartment, and a control panel provided on the door, enabling the user to access the control unit. By this, the user can control the fast cooling compartment without opening the door, avoiding excessive energy consumption.
The exemplary embodiments of the refrigerator realized to achieve the aims of the present invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

The refrigerator (1) comprises a freezer compartment (2) in which the food to be frozen are placed and a cooler compartment (3) in which the food to be cooled are placed, maintained at a higher temperature than the freezer compartment (2).
The refrigerator (1) of the invention comprises a fast cooling compartment (8) having a body (4) placed in the cooler compartment (3), an evaporator (5) placed on the body (4) so that at least a portion thereof has thermal conduction with the body (4), a fan (6) provided in the body (4) enabling conveyance of the cold air coming from the evaporator (5) into the body (4), and a control unit (7) enabling cooling of the body (4) by activating the evaporator (5) when desired by the user.
The user activates the fast cooling compartment (8) after placement of the food or drink which is desired to be cooled rapidly in the body (4). The evaporator (5) in contact with the body (4) is activated upon activation of the fast cooling compartment (8), and the cold air coming from the evaporator (5) is distributed in the body (4) by means of the fan (6). The control unit (7) deactivates the evaporator (5) feeding the fast cooling compartment (8) after completion of a period of time predetermined by the producer. Thus, the food is prevented from freezing or bottles are prevented from bursting when forgotten in the fast cooling compartment (8).
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator (1) comprises an insulation unit (9) placed around the body (4) so as to surround the body (4), enabling maintenance of the temperature of the fast cooling compartment (8). The insulation unit (9) enables maintenance of the cold air in the fast cooling compartment (8) disposed in the cooling compartment (3) for a further period of time after cooling thereof.
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator (1) comprises a cover (12) enabling access into the fast refrigeration compartment (8). By this, the food desired to be cooled rapidly, are placed in the body (4).
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator (1) comprises a tray (13) on which the materials to be cooled are placed, mounted on two guides mutually provided on the side walls of the body (4). The volume of the fast cooling compartment (8) provided on the cooling compartment (3) can be so small that a hand cannot get in, with the purpose of preventing occupation of a large space. By means of the tray (13), the user first pulls the tray (13) provided in the body (4), then he/she puts the food he/she desires to cool on the tray (13), and places the tray (13) in the body (4) by pushing.
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator (1) comprises a fast cooling compartment (8) suitable for placing an ice making unit (14) within. By this, fast ice making can be performed.
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator (1) comprises at least one door enabling access into the cooler compartment (3) and/or the freezer compartment (2), and a control panel provided on the door, enabling the user to access the control unit (7). The user can activate the fast cooling compartment (8) without opening the door by means of the control panel provided on the door.
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator (1) comprises an insulation unit (9) having a lower insulation piece (10) provided below the body (4), and an upper insulation piece (11) surrounding the ceiling and the side walls of the body (4). Insulation unit (9) can thus be easily mounted.
In an embodiment of the invention, the refrigerator (1) comprises a fast cooling compartment (8) having a lower body (15) provided below the lower insulation piece (10), and an upper body (16) provided above the upper insulation piece (11). The fragmented structure of the fast cooling compartment (8) provides ease of maintenance.
The fast cooling function can be activated in the cooler compartment (3) and undesired freezing events can be prevented by means of the invention.

Claims (6)

  1. A refrigerator (1) comprising
    - a freezer compartment (2) in which the food to be frozen are placed,
    - a cooler compartment (3) in which the food to be cooled are placed, maintained at a higher temperature than the freezer compartment (2). characterized by, a fast cooling compartment (8) having
    - a body (4) placed in the cooler compartment (3),
    - an evaporator (5) placed on the body (4) so that at least a portion thereof has thermal conduction with the body (4),
    - a fan (6) provided in the body (4) enabling conveyance of the cold air coming from the evaporator (5) into the body (4),
    - a control unit (7) enabling cooling of the body (4) by activating the evaporator (5) when desired by the user.
  2. A refrigerator (1) according to claim 1, characterized by an insulation unit (9) placed around the body (4) so as to surround the body (4), enabling maintenance of the temperature of the fast cooling compartment (8).
  3. A refrigerator (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by a cover (12) enabling access into the fast cooling compartment (8).
  4. A refrigerator (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by a tray (13) on which the materials to be cooled are placed, mounted on two guides mutually provided on the side walls of the body (4).
  5. A refrigerator (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by a fast cooling compartment (8) suitable for placing an ice making unit (14) within.
  6. A refrigerator (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by at least one door enabling access into the cooler compartment (3) and/or the freezer compartment (2), and by a control panel provided on the door, enabling the user to access the control unit (7).
