Abstract

The present invention relates to a cable retainer (1) for use in an electrical household appliance (2), in particular a free-standing oven (3).

Description

IMPROVED CABLE RETAINER FOR USE IN AN ELECTRICAL HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE
The present invention relates to an electrical household appliance, in particular to a free standing oven.
Electrical household appliances such as free standing ovens are commonly known in the art. A free standing oven generally comprises: an electrical connecting terminal for connection to the mains; and a cable retainer which has a retaining means for retaining one or more power supply cables leading to the electrical connecting terminal.
DE202006016014U1 discloses a cooking appliance which comprises a cable retainer.
A problem with the prior art electrical household appliance is that the assemblage of the cable retainer and the power supply cables is complicated and time consuming.
An objective of the present invention is to provide a cable retainer for use in an electrical household appliance which solves the aforementioned problems of the prior art in a cost-effective way and which enables an improved assemblage.
This objective has been achieved by the cable retainer as defined in claim 1, and the electrical household appliance as defined in claim 12. Further achievements have been attained by the subject-matters respectively defined in the dependent claims.
The cable retainer of the present invention further comprises: an attachment means which is adapted to detachably attach the retaining means to a mounting plate of the electrical household appliance without a screw connection, wherein the retaining means is further adapted to releasably receive, in the state attached to the mounting plate, said one or more power supply cables leading to the electrical connecting terminal.
A major advantageous effect of the present invention is that cable retainer can be easily and quickly assembled into or disassembled from the electrical household appliance by virtue of the attachment means without any screw connection. Thereby the assembly and disassembly process can be expedited, and thus the production costs as well as the maintenance costs can be reduced. Another major advantageous effect of the present invention is that power supply cables can be easily and quickly assembled into or disassembled from the cable retainer by virtue of the retaining means which releasably receives the power supply cables in the attached state. Thereby the assembly operator or the maintenance person is not required to detach the cable retainer for assembling or disassembling the power supply cables. Thereby the assembly and disassembly process can be further expedited, and thus the production costs as well as the maintenance costs can be further reduced.
