Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing a value document, such as a banknote or the like, wherein the document of value consists of a security paper with a front side and a back side, wherein a protective layer is applied to at least one of these pages.
- a security paper for the production of documents of value such as banknotes or the like, with double-sided Folienkaschie- tion is known in which all other printing steps (flat, gravure, gravure, offset, screen printing, Intaglio and digitization) and / or other finishing steps (for example, lasering, film application, application of further security elements) are applied to the respective outer sides of the laminated films.
- these imprints or security elements may be damaged or even lost in circulation due to environmental influences, mechanical abrasion and wear.
- banknote sheet is known, which is first printed completely finished, i. Flat, solid, gravure and high pressure, offset, screen printing, intaglio and numbering, and then laminated on both sides with a foil.
- the disadvantage here is that in case of errors in the preparation of a banknote, the later committee of the relevant
- Banknote the numbering of the banknote series is no longer continuous because the banknote is missing with the corresponding number.
- a continuous numbering of a banknote series is required by many customers.
- the numbering of banknotes is applied in the prior art with a mechanical mechanism by high pressure on one side of a bill.
- a complex individual code eg barcode, QR code, etc.
- the invention is therefore the object of developing a generic security element such that the disadvantages of the prior art are eliminated.
- a coating is applied to the security paper between the protective layer and the side of the security paper to which this protective layer is applied, which is changed contactlessly through the protective layer by electromagnetic radiation in a subsequent step, so that an individual information is transmitted. is written on in the coating.
- the coating can be applied over the whole area to or on only a portion of the surface of the security paper.
- the coating or activatable layer or substance is preferably located directly in the substrate or in the protective layer (lamination, lacquer, etc.) on at least one of the two sides or is applied to the substrate over the entire surface or partially on at least one of the two sides of the substrate.
- a particular advantage of the invention is thus that the internal individualization is protected by the protective layer against external influences in circulation. Furthermore, the individualization can be inscribed into the coating through the protective layer without destruction.
- the electromagnetic radiation is generated by a laser.
- the protective layer is a laminated, laminated or extruded film or varnish.
- a film is applied as a protective layer on the front and / or back of the security or a coating in the form of a lacquer layer, which is printed by a printing process on the front and / or back of the security.
- the coating contains a substance which can be activated and / or changed by electromagnetic radiation, for example one of the following substances:
- an opaque material is, for example, a coating of aluminum, metal, a paint with optically variable pigments (OVI), a paint with magnetically orientable optically variable pigments or a vapor-deposited, multilayer optically variable coating.
- OMI optically variable pigments
- the individual information is, for example, a digit, a barcode or a QR code or information about manufacturing data of the security paper or personalized data.
- the coating after exposure to electromagnetic radiation is darker or lighter than the environment not exposed to electromagnetic radiation.
- the coating can be haptically detectable or tactile after exposure to electromagnetic radiation and form, for example, information for blind or visually impaired persons.
- the individualization is machine-readable, for example with the camera of a smartphone or tablet (for example the recognition of a QR code or a pattern recognition), by means of special hand-held devices or by means of banknote processing machines.
- the following variants can be generated with a laser: a) a laser etching, ie a recess by material removal or compression, optionally combined with a discoloration; if necessary, the depression later also serves as a tactile security element, b) a discoloration, without the structure being changed,
- a tactile survey that is tactile, e.g. by lasering a survey with a height above the substrate surface of preferably between 10 ⁇ and 100 ⁇ .
- the substance which can be activated by electromagnetic radiation can be located on at least one of the two sides in the protective coating / under the protective coating / in the substrate, covering it completely or partially.
- the area in which the activatable substance is located is either more transparent or translucent than the surrounding area, so that the scattering of the activating electromagnetic radiation is minimal and the information can be read well later. Conversely, however, this area can also be deliberately matted in order to facilitate machine detection of the activated substance or to ensure error-free detection. Usually glossy or reflective surfaces interfere with an optical recognition.
- the substance of the coating which can be activated by electromagnetic radiation can also be applied to both sides of the security paper, the coating being arranged congruently or not congruent to one another on both sides.
- the individualization can be inscribed on both sides in two steps or preferably in one step, ie on the (related to a laser) back by means of trans-lasers, ie non-destructive by front side foil and substrate on the backside located laser active surface che.
- the substrate of the security paper may have a dilution or perforation in this area.
- a plurality of colors which can be activated by means of electromagnetic radiation are superimposed over and / or adjacent to one another in a running and / or adjacent manner, so that color effects occurring after the application of electromagnetic radiation can be recognized.
- the electromagnetic radiation for example a laser, can be used to cut holes in the substrate, wherein the edge is colored.
- Another variant is the application for the individual introduction of a numbering.
- the invention has the following advantages: •
- the customization can be done in one of the last, preferably in the last step. It is thus achieved an internal, circulation-stable individualization of banknotes, which can be carried out only in one of the last steps, possibly even after a film lamination.
- the customization can be done on both sides, preferably in one step.
- the customization is also machine-readable, e.g. with a smartphone or banknote processing machines.
- the individualization can also be complex, e.g. Barcode, QR code etc.
- the security paper is particularly preferably made of paper from cotton fibers, as used for example for banknotes, or from other natural fibers or from synthetic fibers or a mixture of natural and synthetic fibers, or from at least one plastic film, for example a polymer film.
- the security paper consists of a combination of at least two superposed and interconnected different substrates, a so-called hybrid.
- the security paper consists of a combination of plastic film-paper-plastic film, ie a paper substrate is covered on both sides by a plastic film, or a combination of paper-plastic film paper, ie a substrate made of a plastic film on each of his covered by paper on both sides.
- the paper layer usually has a weight of 50 g / m 2 to 100 g / m 2 , preferably of 80 g / m 2 to 90 g / m 2 .
- any other suitable weight can be used.
- Documents of value in which such a substrate or security paper can be used are, in particular, banknotes, stocks, bonds, certificates, vouchers, checks, high-quality admission tickets, but also other papers which are subject to counterfeiting, such as passports and other identity documents, as well as cards, such as credit cards. or debit cards whose card body has at least one layer of security paper and also product securing elements such as labels, seals, packaging and the like.
- the simplified term value document includes all the above materials, documents and product safeguards.
- the positional accuracy of printed images or other elements to each other on the front and / or back of a substrate is called.
- the DIN 16500-2: 1987-01 defines as Passer the accuracy in the printing technique, with which the intended reproduction quality of the reproduced details is achieved or maintained.
- the terms "front” or “back” of the substrate or value document are relative terms, which may also be referred to as "the one" and “the opposite” sides, and which constitute the majority of the total surface area of the substrate or value document.
- the side surfaces of a substrate or value document that are negligibly small, and usually not with security elements, or with a thickness of a substrate or value document which is only about a millimeter in the case of card bodies or only fractions of a millimeter in banknotes, are expressly excluded Coatings can be provided or can be. In particular, no see-through effects can be achieved with the side surfaces.
- Information in the sense of this invention is a pattern-shaped and visually perceptible coating.
- This can for example form a graphic image, a picture, a number, a letter, a text or other characters.
- the information consists of positive or / and negative motives.
- a motif element in this case a motif element is itself applied to the substrate, whereas in the case of a negative motif the area surrounding the motif element is applied to the substrate.
- a positive subject is a letter printed in dark color on the light substrate.
