Description
The present invention relates to a cooking appliance, in particular to a gas cooking appliance.
Gas cooking appliances are commonly known in the art. A gas cooking appliance generally comprises: one or more gas burners; one or more safety gas taps each for supplying the gas to the respective gas burner, wherein each safety gas tap comprises: a rotating shaft for controlling the gas flow; and a shaft thrust mechanism for axially and outwardly thrusting the rotating shaft; a cover plate which comprises one or more apertures which respectively accommodate the protruding ends of the rotating shafts; and one or more knobs which are respectively linked to the rotating shafts. When taking the gas burner of the gas cooking appliance into operation, the user presses and rotates the respective knob in order to ignite the gas. After the gas is ignited, the user allows the knob to retract and adjusts the flame of the gas burner by rotating the knob to the desired position.
EP1045206 (A2) discloses a gas cooking appliance which comprises a safety gas tap.
A problem with the prior art gas cooking appliance is that the knob may easily jiggle as the user manipulates the same for taking the respective gas burner into operation. The jiggling of the knob impairs the operability of the gas cooking appliance and also gives an impression of inferior quality.
An objective of the present invention is to provide a gas cooking appliance which solves the aforementioned problems of the prior art in a cost-effective way and which enables an improved operability of the knob.
This objective has been achieved by the gas cooking appliance as defined in claim 1. Further achievements have been attained by the subject-matters respectively defined in the dependent claims.
The gas cooking appliance of the present invention comprises: one or more knob thrust mechanisms each for axially and outwardly thrusting the respective knob, wherein the knob thrust mechanism is provided separately from the shaft thrust mechanism of the respective safety gas tap.
A major advantageous effect of the present invention is that the knob can be prevented from jiggling as the user manipulates the same for taking the respective gas burner into operation by virtue of the knob thrusting mechanism. Thereby, the operability of the gas cooking appliance has been improved. Another major advantageous effect of the present invention is that the knob gives an impression of high-quality by virtue of the knob thrusting mechanism.
Additional features and additional advantageous effects of the gas cooking appliance according to the present invention will become more apparent with the detailed description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
