Definitions
- the present device has as its technical field dental implantology, a discipline of dentistry that deals with the study of alloplastic materials inside or on the jaw bones to support dental rehabilitation. It aims to replace missing teeth by surgically placing a dental implant in the maxillary or mandibular bone.
- Dental implants can be of different sizes, surfaces and materials. On the implants prosthetic rehabilitations are designed that will allow to restore the masticatory, phonetic and aesthetic functions of the patient. The choice of the type of implant that is put in patients is made based on the diagnosis, prognosis and interdisciplinary treatment plan between the general dentist with a specialist in surgery, periodontics or prosthodontics.
- Figure 1 is a view in which all the elements involved in the use of the irrigation system are involved.
- Figure 2 is a top view of the guide in which the outputs of the irrigation system are illustrated avoiding the pressure that could be generated when injecting the liquid during milling.
- Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view through the surgical guide in which the irrigation elements are observed through it and the possible insertion angles of the irrigation tube.
- Figure 4 describes the element that divides the irrigation system of the conventional milling motor allowing the irrigation tube of the guide and the handpiece to be connected at the same time.
- object of the present invention consists of intermediate parts and complementary to the irrigation system of any conventional milling motor and a printed digital surgical guide (in biocompatible acrylic) in 3D
- a counter-angle (handpiece) (1) is required to perform the milling in which strawberries (drills) with a stop (2) are placed for the preparation of the bed to be implanted, depending on the system and brand used is required or not, the use of diameter reducers (5) for drills (2), these are placed in the metal rings (sleeves) (6) of the surgical guides and are exchanged consecutively to increase the diameter of the preparation.
- the reducers (5) By placing the reducers (5) on the rings (6) and then placing the drill (drill) (2) inside it, the space that allows the passage of irrigation (4) that comes from the handpiece ( 1), preventing it from reaching the preparation site (socket, bone bed), causing heat to be generated (Temperatures greater than 40 ° C) due to friction between the instrument (2) and the bone.
- the following system was designed, which consists of adding a "Y" shaped distributor (8) to the main irrigation path (10) from the milling motor.
- the contra-angle (handpiece) (1) with sufficient feed to irrigate over the surgical guide (7) during milling and add an irrigation tube (4) to the design of the guide during the design stage or after printing through a stainless steel tube with a diameter of 1.65 mm and a length of no more than 12 mm.
- the outlet of the irrigation tube (4) will be located just below the ring (sleeve) (6) placed in the surgical guide (7) as can be seen in figure (3) and the angle of insertion can vary from 0 ° to 50 ° starting from the line perpendicular to the angle of insertion of the rings 6 avoiding exceeding their height and allowing easy access to the contra-angle (handpiece) (1). Ideally they should be placed towards the vestibular side of the teeth.
- the design of the distributor (8) in the form of ⁇ "consists of 3 connectors, 1 inlet and 2 outlets to evenly divide the irrigation flow (10) coming from the milling motor, inside it has an equilateral triangle-shaped block to prevent bubbles and / or turbulence in its interior during the flow of the liquid.
- This piece is fully 3D printed of the same material as the surgical guide (7) and is not reusable.
- the hoses (3) necessary for the interconnection of the components correspond to the caliber of those included in the milling motor (1.65 mm internal diameter and 2 mm external diameter) and their length varies from 8 cm to 15 cm between the distributor (8) and the irrigation tube (4) of the contra-angle (handpiece) (1) and 10 cm to 20 cm between the distributor and the irrigation tube (4) placed in the surgical guide.
