  • a method 200 of adjusting torque in a torque adjusting mechanical assembly may comprise setting an angle and the amount of torque to be applied between the upper element 101 and lower element 102 via an angular and radial adjustable rack sub-assembly 109 further comprising a flexion adjustment means 110, an extension adjustment means 111 and an angle adjustment means 112 which are enabled to provide an angle at which the restoring torque is effective during the flexion and the extension movements between the upper element 101 and lower element 102 and the amount of moment arm is set by sliding the flexion support adjustment means 113 and the extension support adjustment means 119 wherein the restoring torque is enabled by storing and releasing the potential energy present in the resilient means 108 from the set angle.
  • the method may further comprise creating a torque, during the flexion and extension movement between the upper element 101 and the lower element 102 which enables angular and radial adjustable rack sub-assembly 109 to generate potential energy by the effect of expansion of the resilient means 108 wherein the resilient means 108 is expanded by the flexible element 104 and through the arrangement and engagement of flexion or extension single point (106 or 107) which is connected to the flexion or extension support adjustment means (113 and 119) and the flexion or extension support adjustment lock 114 thereby providing a resistance in performing flexion and extension.
  • the method may further comprise wherein the torque is varied by sliding the position of the flexion single point 106 or the extension single point 107 via the flexion button 116 or extension button 117 characterized in that sliding of the flexion single point 106 and the extension single point 107 enables to change the moment arm to provide variable torque.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un ensemble mécanique de réglage de couple. Une première extrémité d'élément flexible est fixée à un élément supérieur et une seconde extrémité est en prise avec une crémaillère reliée à une première extrémité d'un moyen élastique et la seconde extrémité du moyen élastique est fixée à l'élément inférieur, permettant une liaison pouvant accumuler de l'énergie dans le moyen élastique lors d'un déplacement angulaire entre l'élément supérieur et l'élément inférieur. L'extrémité extérieure de crémaillère amène l'élément flexible à tirer lorsque l'élément supérieur est dévié d'une position initiale accumulant l'énergie dans le moyen élastique, ladite énergie accumulée établissant un couple de rappel qui permet à l'élément supérieur et à l'élément inférieur de revenir dans la position initiale. Un réglage angulaire permet de régler l'angle de couple et le réglage radial permet de régler la quantité efficace de couple à distribuer.
