Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of communications technologies, and in particular, to a communication method and apparatus.
- uplink and downlink transmissions between a network device and a terminal device are in units of sub frames.
- the network device Before the downlink data transmission (that is, the network device sends the downlink data to the terminal device), the network device needs to send the downlink to the terminal device on the first Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of the subframe.
- OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing
- DCI Downlink control information
- DCI which notifies the scheduling information of the current data transmission, including the time-frequency resources used, the modulation and coding methods, and the like.
- latency is one of the important factors that affect the user experience.
- New businesses that are constantly emerging, such as those related to the Internet of Vehicles, are placing increasing demands on latency. Therefore, in the LTE system, a transmission mechanism based on a transmission time interval (TTI) of one subframe cannot meet the requirement of a low-latency service.
- TTI transmission time interval
- the Latency Reduction technology is introduced in 3GPP Release 14 to shorten the transmission time interval (sTTI) to reduce the time of packet and demodulation coding. The purpose of the small physical layer air interface delay.
- the reduction in the transmission time interval increases the overhead of DCI.
- one DCI can schedule resources within 1 ms; in an sTTI system, one DCI may schedule resources of 2 to 3 OFDM symbols; therefore, the overhead of DCI is multiplied in the sTTI system.
- the DCI overhead is multiplied, which occupies too much transmission resources between the network device and the terminal device, resulting in reduced efficiency of data transmission. Therefore, in the sTTI system, how to reduce the number of bits of DCI has become an urgent problem to be solved.

- sTTI data transmission refers to the TTI length of data transmission is less than 1 subframe or 1 millisecond.
- the short TTI length is 0.5 milliseconds, 4 symbol lengths, 3 symbol lengths, 2 symbol lengths, or 1 symbol length. That is to say, in the embodiment of the present invention, the time domain resource occupied by the data transmission in the sTTI system may also be smaller than the sTTI length.
- the relationship between the downlink bandwidth, the Resource Block Group (RBG), and the Precoder Resource Block Group (PRG) is as follows:
- RB Downstream bandwidth
- the downlink resource allocation of the LTE system is divided into three types: type 0, type 1 and type 2.
- type 0 is taken as an example for description.
- Each RBG is a group of consecutive resource blocks, and the number of resource blocks in each RBG is P, and the value of P is related to the downlink bandwidth. Moreover, if the bandwidth cannot be divisible by P, the number of resource blocks of the last RBG is less than P.
- the network device indicates the frequency domain resource allocated to the terminal device by using a bit mapping scheme, where the number of bits required by the bit mapping scheme is the same as the number of RBGs, each bit and one RBG correspond. If the network device assigns an RBG to a terminal device, the corresponding bit in the bitmap is set to 1; otherwise, it is set to 0.

- the resource block (RB) is taken as an example.
- the bandwidth is divided into 13 RGB, and the first 12 RBGs each include 2 RBs, and the 13th The RBG contains 1 resource block.
- a non-codebook precoding transmission scenario is supported.
- the network device performs channel estimation through a DeModulation Reference Signal (DMRS), and the DMRS is transmitted only on the resource block allocated to the specific terminal device, and is valid only for the specific terminal. That is to say, each DMRS can only be used for a single terminal device, and the DMRS between different terminal devices is different (or distinguishable).
- DMRS uses the same precoding as the Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission.

- the network device can determine the precoding used by each terminal device on each RB. However, in most cases, the network device may use the same precoding matrix on multiple consecutive RBs to improve the channel estimation quality of the terminal.
- the 10th edition of 3GPP states that the terminal device can assume that in one PRG, all RBs use the same precoding.
- the data sent by the network device to the terminal device is carried on one or more RBGs, and the size of the PRG is a divisor of the RBG size, that is, the number of RBs in the PRG is a divisor of the number of RBs in the RBG.

The precoding of RBs in PRG0 is the same, and the precoding of RBs in PRG1 is also the same, and the terminal equipment can perform joint channel estimation on the channels in each PRG. There is a certain performance gain compared to performing channel estimation separately for each RB.

That is, the value of the first value is not limited in the embodiment of the present invention.
- the network determines the value of the second value based on the complexity of the channel estimate and the frequency selection characteristics of the channel.
- the embodiment of the present invention does not describe in detail how to determine the value of the second value.
- the frequency selection characteristic of a channel refers to a channel whose channel gain is different in different frequency bands. As shown in Figure 3, the stronger the frequency selectivity, the weaker the correlation of the channels at different frequencies. The longer the frequency band in which the other two frequencies are separated, the weaker the channel correlation. Therefore, it can be seen that in a weak frequency selective channel or a non-frequency selective channel, since the channel gain can be considered to be strongly correlated or even the same in a large bandwidth, the same channel can be used for the same channel in the different frequency bands.
- PRG it is possible to set the PRG to be larger. On the contrary, in the strong frequency selective channel, even the channels on several adjacent resource blocks may be far apart. If the precoding on these resource blocks is set to be the same, performance loss will occur. Set the PRG to be smaller.
