Definitions
- the present utility model patent belongs to the field of surgical devices and its object is a conical seal for sealing surgical sections subjected to the insertion of surgical instruments, in particular the trocar in laparoscopic surgeries. After obtaining the pneumoperitoneum and the main function of this conical seal is to prevent the gas injected into the abdominal cavity from being expelled into the environment.
- the tapered seal involves the trocar inserted into surgical cuts and which injects gas into the abdominal cavity during laparoscopic surgical procedures, the outer circumference of which is molded to the perimeter of the surgical cut to seal any interstitium that may cause the exit. of gas that was injected into the patient's abdominal cavity so that the surgeon can perform the surgical procedure.
- Laparoscopy is where the doctor makes a small incision in the region to be examined or treated, through which he introduces the laparoscope (apparatus through which he will view and treat the area covered), which consists of a thin tube of fibers. through which you can visualize the internal organs and make diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
- the laparoscope apparatus through which he will view and treat the area covered
- This technique has the advantage of being minimally invasive and thus result in less surgical trauma, less intraoperative bleeding, less postoperative pain, faster postoperative recovery and earlier return to usual activities and work. , besides smaller scars.
- pneumoperitoneum is made for visualization of the organs.
- the pneumoperitoneum procedure consists of applying a needle through an incision in the abdomen, connecting said needle to a deliever who injects the gas necessary for the expansion of the cavity.
- the trocar After obtaining the pneumoperitoneum, the trocar is positioned within the cavity, being juxtaposed to the walls of the incision preventing the outflow of the gas.
- the expansion gas may escape, in which case the surgeon is obliged to prevent the escape of the gases by any means.
- a mechanical sealing device specifically designed to prevent outflow of expansion gas in such cases is known in the art.
- Said sealing equipment is disclosed in document BR 10 2014 017181 9 A2 entitled "INFLATABLE RING BALLOON FOR LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERIES”; which is about an annular balloon that has the form of an expandable torus, which surrounds the perimeter of the trocar, understood as a tube for insertion of gas into the pneumoperitoneal abdominal cavity, said annular balloon has an air inlet and outlet that can be sealed by valve or even by mechanical obstruction of forceps. The annular balloon inflates near the enlarged surgical incision, but, surrounding the trocar, to seal out the expansion gas.
- conical sealer for laparoscopy, has a conical shape that allows the patient to enter the tissues (skin, muscle and fat layers) until they find their physical limit, thus stopping. the hole that was made to perform the surgery.
- a hole of the diameter of the trocar has the function of allowing its passage without allowing the passage of gas during the surgical procedure.
- the surgical seal As the state-of-the-art device (annular balloon), the surgical seal, now being presented, need not be inflated into the patient's orifice, which facilitates its operation.
- the state-of-the-art object needs several steps in its production process which increases production time such as injection, ultrasound welding and also needs great care to avoid burrs , which can impair the gas sealing process during surgery.
- the tapered surgical seal can be produced in just one injection process, which ensures dimensional accuracy, scalability and minimal loss.

- the "LAPAROSCOPIC CONNECTED SEAL ARRANGEMENT” designates a surgical seal that surrounds the cannula or trocar for insertion of carbon dioxide gas into the abdominal cavity, when necessary. perform laparoscopic surgeries.
- the taper seal for iaparoscopy (1) is made from a resilient surgical polymer (silicone) structure with a truncated geometry, the outer diameter of which is reduced from top to bottom and with a tunnel (3). ) longitudinal center of circular section.
- longitudinally distributed ribs (6) are provided for regularly.
