Abstract

The present invention relates to an improved method for the synthesis of dendron-based chromatography resins. The method comprises incorporating dendrons, molecules having a branched structure, into the chromatography resin. In a second step, the functional groups of the dendron are functionalised with ligands. The method can be applied to a wide variety of materials of different natures for the synthesis of chromatography resins for a wide variety of chromatography processes such as hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC), ion-exchange chromatography (IEXC), reversed-phase chromatography (RPC) and affinity chromatography (AC), inter alia.
