Abstract

L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés pour former de l'UCl3. Selon l'invention, une cuve contenant du bismuth liquide est chauffée à une première température, de l'uranium métal et un sel contenant du NaCI et du BiCI3 sont mélangés avec le bismuth liquide, la cuve est maintenue à la première température pendant une durée suffisante pour produire un sel de NaCl-UCl3 fondu, la cuve est chauffée à une seconde température de sorte que le NaCl-UCl3 fondu se solidifie, puis le NaCl-UCl3 solide est retiré de la cuve.
