Abstract

Le taux de survenue de raccourcissement dans le grand public est de 10 %, le raccourcissement allant jusqu'à 1 à 1,5 cm. Ses causes sont la claudication, la scoliose, et des changements ostéoarthritiques de l'articulation de la hanche et du genou. Un allongement osseux doit donc être mis en œuvre pour ces cas. Pour allonger les os, on procède à une ostéotomie suivie d'une distraction par un fixateur externe (Ilizarov) ou par fixation interne soit par clou intramédullaire dynamique (méthode du spin) soit par clou magnétique (par commande à distance). La présente invention concerne un clou intramédullaire par traction sous conditions dynamiques (qui est le premier clou de ce type dans le monde), qui présente plusieurs caractéristiques : 1 - une lésion minimale des tissus mous, 2 - une traction longitudinale sans subir la rotation rencontrée avec d'autres clous (lésions vasculaires et des tissus mous minimales), 3 - une traction réalisée par un dispositif de traction spatiale évalué à partir de l'attelle de Thomas, 4 - un coût financier considérablement réduit grâce à des propriétés mécaniques sans la sophistication d'un moteur et/ou d'un champ magnétique.
