Abstract

The invention relates to a frame assembly comprising two extruded rails (12, 14) providing a cover component securable over a base component with a flexible sheet (35) of material fastened therebetween. A frame is construction with four base components (12) and corner pieces (74). Each base component (12) has a channel (22) with two opposite ribs (24, 26) engageable by clip formations (28, 30) on a ridge of the cover component (14). A latch formation is provided adjacent an operatively inner edge of the base component and a catch formation at the operatively outer edge of the cover component (14). The cooperating engaging formations of the two rails (12, 14) are brought into engagement to span the sheet material (35), under tension in the frame assembly. The engagement provided by the ribs in the channel (22) and clip formations (28, 30) facilitates tensioning of the sheet (35) and resist the loss of tension over time. The sheet (35) will preferably carry advertising graphics and/or pricing and is easily changeable when new content is required. The invention extends to a method of spanning such a sheet in a frame assembly.
