Description
A retroreflective fluorescent plastic film carrying bag
The subject of the invention is a retroreflective plastic film carrying bag with handgrips manufactured from flattened plastic film tubing made of polyethylene with the use of the blowing extrusion method and designed to hold, store, or carry various products as well as advertise goods and/or services.
Known are plastic film carrying bags comprising two side walls made of a plastic film joined with each other along at least two of their opposite edges by means of appropriate pressing surfaces and further joined by means of a lower plastic film insert provided between the side plastic film walls provided with handgrips.
Known are also plastic film advertising bags made of HDPE and LDPE films with thickness of 0.04-0.07 mm with advertising imprints made on them with the use of flexographic or silk screen printing, in particular the bags of "MARKET" type with an upper and a lower fold, side welds, and a handgrip drawn in the upper flange in the form of a "bean".
From description of invention filed in Polish patent application No. P- 397376 known is a plastic film carrying bag comprising two walls made of polypropylene film from the same band of plastic film, with a fold situated between the walls made from the same sheet, , whereas the welds are made on the sides. In the upper part, backings are glued to the two layers of film, in which cut-outs are provided forming a handgrip.
Further, from Polish patent description of the invention filed under No. P- 365415 known is an easily openable film carrying bag made of a plastic, having two overlapping walls, a front wall and a back wall, joined with each
other by means of two welts, each of which is formed by two panels with different widths, so that the front wall and the back wall are shifted transversally forming thus two band-shaped side zones between side edges of the back wall and the corresponding side edges of the front wall, whereas the side zones are designed for gripping them and relieving them from each other in order to open the bag.
The objective of the present invention is to provide an all-purpose carrying bag based on exterior shape and handgrip designs known in the prior art, with the function of the bag not limited only to holding and carrying the products, but also allowing to increase safety of people going on foot with such carrying bag, especially during the night-time, and to increase effectiveness of advertising inscriptions placed on such carrying bag.
The retroreflective plastic film carrying bag fabricated from polyethylene film tubing according to the present invention is characterised that it is made of polyethylene film, preferably of HDPE type, with thickness G = 0.05- 0.95 μηι, and one or both of the outside surfaces of the front wall and the back wall of the bag is or are provided with at least one retroreflective strip, joined inseparably with or fused into said wall or walls, or one of said walls is provided with an inseparable retroreflective coating, the strips or the coating being made of a composition containing 80-99.1 wt% of polyethylene, preferably of HDPE type, and 0.9-20 wt% of a transparent fluorescent dye or pigment, whereas the width of the inseparably joined retroreflective strips is H = 0.05-0.9 μιη, and the thickness of the retroreflective elements fused into the wall or walls is H2 = 0.06-0.6 μηι, while the depth of fusing the elements into the wall or walls is HI = 0.02- 0.4 μιη, and the width of the retroreflective strips is S = 5-200 mm. It is favourable when the transparent fluorescent dye has the colouring power in the range 95-100% and when the fluorescent dye is a soluble dye, and the fluorescent pigment is a light-emitting pigment. It is also favourable when the fluorescent pigment is a metallic pigment with particle size from 4 μηι to 10 μπι. It is favourable as well when the strips placed on the front and/or the back wall of the bag are oriented obliquely and tilted to the left or to the right, or when the strips are oriented horizontally and parallel to each other, or when the strips are oriented vertically and parallel to each other, or when the strips are arranged to form the shape of letter "V", or when the strips are placed on inside surfaces of the front and/or the rear wall of the bag.
Providing front walls of the bag with retroreflective strips containing a fluorescent dye or glitter in colours ranging from yellow to red producing an effect of phosphorescent light, enhances safety of people who hold such bags in their hands in the night-time, as the bag reflects the light coming from approaching cars. Fluorescent effect of glowing gives the bags an unique and individual look, creating the final decorative effect with additional graphic advertising inscriptions placed on the bags. Moreover, the fluorescent dye used in these retroreflective strips makes the glow both in darkness after illumination occurring either during the daytime or by light bulbs. Further, the use of HDPE-type high density polyethylene for manufacturing the bag, results in significant enhancement of its mechanical strength which allows to reduce thickness of the film.
The subject-matter of the invention is illustrated in its example embodiments on drawings, of which Figs. 1-24 present six variants of a first version of retroreflective plastic film carrying bags with handgrips fixed to the front and to the back wall of each of the bags, whereas Fig. 1 shows a first variant of this first version with single retroreflective strips on each of its two walls in a front view; Fig. 2— the same variant of the bag, in a rear view; Fig. 3 — the same variant of the bag in a top view; Fig. 4— the same variant of the bag in cross-sections along lines A-A of Figs. 1 and 2; Fig. 5— a second variant of the first version of the bag with double retroreflective strips provided only on its front wall, in a front view; Fig. 6— the same variant of the bag in a rear view; Fig. 7— the same variant of the bag in a top view; Fig. 8— the same variant of the bag in cross-section along line A- A of Fig. 5; Fig. 9— a third variant of the first version of the bag with a single retroreflective strip provided only on its front wall and oriented along its diagonal, in a front view; Fig. 10— the same variant of the bag, in a rear view; Fig. 1 1— the same variant of the bag in a top view; Fig. 12— the same variant of the bag in cross-section along line B-B of Fig. 9; Fig. 13— a fourth variant of the first version of the bag with two retroreflective strips situated on its front wall, in a front view; Fig. 14— the same variant of the bag with a single oblique retroreflective strip, in a rear view; Fig. 15— the same variant of the bag, in a top view; Fig. 16— the same variant of the bag, in transverse cross-sections along line A-A of Figs. 13 and 14; Fig. 17 — a fifth variant of the first version of the bag with three vertically oriented retroreflective strips, in a front view; Fig. 18— the same variant of the bag, in a rear view; Fig. 1 — the same variant of the bag, in a top view; Fig. 20
