Description
THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE
INVENTION:
FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The invention particularly relates to a composition for rapid liberation of oxygen in the environment for pest repellent and the process for making the same wherein said composition when mixed with water liberates oxygen with a controlled release mechanism such that the release of oxygen suppresses the percentage volume of carbon dioxide in the surrounding area thus repelling the mosquitoes and other pest that strive for carbon dioxide to live and find their host. Said composition comprises a mixture of oxygen generating compounds, pH buffers, metal catalysts, at least one biopolymer that controls, the release of components and liberation of oxygen. The invention also describes various application of said composition wherein said composition can also be used as a bioremediation in waste waters, a swimming pool water cleanser, as a plant nutrient, and an aquaculture booster etc.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION.
Repelling mosquitoes is a hard task, there are some traditional methods that are followed wherein if the situation has not grown into an overpopulating state then it is easy to compress them into less numbers. Other methods that are used on large scale are classified into physical pest control, biological pest control, chemical pest control, and mechanical pest control. Physical method for prevention of pest growth and management include household cleaning of garbage that may hold water, making banks of holding ponds steeper to discourage emergent vegetation, cleaning rain gutters, periodically changing stored water. People also put mosquito-eating fish into man-made lakes and let the fish eat them until the numbers decreases. People repel mosquitoes using things that counteract with the female mosquitoes environmental cues, such as C02, heat, and water vapor. The most used chemical to repel mosquitoes is Deet (N,N-diethyl-3- methylbenzamide). Another chemical that is used is Ultrathon. This is more likely to be used in the military. Another repellent is citronella. This is a repellent but does not work as well as deet.
A formula based on geranoil is also used in this case. US5079868 discloses use of urea peroxide to reduce the population or inhibit the growth of bacteria and protects the aerial parts of the plant such as leaves, fruits, flowers and soft stems. Normal pesticide formulations contain various solvents made mostly from Methanol etc, and there is a wide concern that usage of such solvents in specialty pesticide formulations is to be totally discouraged. The use of such solvents, even at a lower rate, demands large amounts of surfactants and other additives which make the cost of such formulations very high compared to the actives.
Many household insecticide products, such as mosquito coils, have been used for personal protection. Most of them are based on the insecticidal activity (knock-down and mortality) of the active ingredient. Most of these are not safe to Elderly, pregnant, neonatal, patients etc.
US 20130084347 Al describes an alcohol-free insect repellent composition includes: (a) from about 30 to about 60 weight % of lemongrass oil; (b) from about 15 to about 40 weight % of essential oil of lemon eucalyptus; (c) from about 10 to about 30 weight % of rose geranium oil, and (d) from about 2 to about 20 weight % of litsea cubeba oil; the balance of the insect repellent composition to 100 weight % being water; wherein the insect repellent composition is free of non-naturally occurring ingredients. Mosquito repellent compositions comprising an active agent and an oil-soluble, water insoluble acrylate polymer having specific solubility parameters of approximately 6- 10 (cal/cc)l/2 in poorly hydrogen bonding solvents are disclosed in US
4816256A.
These pest control harms vegetation best disclosed in US5079868 wherein use of urea peroxide to reduce the population or inhibit the growth of bacteria and protects the aerial parts of the plant such as leaves, fruits, flowers and soft stems. Bug spray consists of deet making it repellent to mosquitoes and other bugs. Deet though, is the best repellent, and finding bug sprays with deet in them are sure to work for hours. Biological method of pest control includes use of proteins from Bacillus thuringiensis US 20140072546 disclose use of bacillus thuringiensis as a neonicotinoid insecticide for the control of dipteran larvae and enhancement of efficacy of insecticidal seed treatment.
Problem using chemical methods and others have drawbacks like creating health hazards owing to the presence of the pesticide residues in food, fiber and fodder, environmental pollution,
Ecological imbalance by loss of non targeted pests, Development of resistance by the insects. JP62- 103002 discloses use of calcium and magnesium peroxide for improvement of initial growth of the plants, germination and seedling emergence. Thus what is needed is a solution to either overcome this hazardous effect of pesticides or chemical used to repel mosquitoes and/or develop a composition which is not harmful for humans in this process. US7160483 discloses use of calcium and magnesium peroxide as a solid chemical source of active oxygen.
US20090075818 discloses use of nano silver colloid for killing of microorganism on seeds and treatment of various diseases in agriculture field and thereby increasing shelf life and quality of agriculture products.
There is still a larger need for a specific and safe formulation for controlling household pests like mosquitoes, termites, bed bugs and other biting/blood sucking pests in a simple, safe, eco friendly and cost effective form without affecting human health. Moreover to maintain ecological balance, use of insecticides and pesticides can be easily replaced by safe and eco- friendly pest repellants. Accordingly, there is a need to develop environmentally safe house hold pest repellant formulations which contain Carbon dioxide diluents (By increasing the volume of Oxygen percentage) and which are further storage stable, efficacious, and economical.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION:
The main object of the invention is to develop a delivery system for an oxygen releasing compounds fortified with organic acids and noble metal catalysts which are in colloidal form and bio encapsulated and efficacious at very low dosage increasing dissolved oxygen for integrated pest management program.
The object of the invention is to provide a pest repellent more particularly a mosquito repellent composition with a controlled release mechanism for generation of oxygen in the air when mixed with water.
Another object of the invention is to provide a source of oxygen to the plants that enhances the soil fertility, improve survival of the plants and soil micro flora in water clogged conditions and thus aid to increase the plant growth and crop yield also to promote optimum water parameters of aquaculture pond water medium to make the inhabitants better livable and thus improving their survival rates.
Another object of the invention is to promote parameters of water medium of the swimming pools to make the swimmers free from foul odors and to eliminate the scope of spreading contagious diseases.
