Description

A Constructive Arrangement for a Glass Container
[01] The present utility model relates to a constructive arrangement for a glass container. More specifically, there is provided a glass container having a capsule arranged on its outer surface for packing an article.
[02] Packages whose main function is to enclose and protect products have been changing due to technological advances not only in terms of materials or technological processes used but also in terms of their appearance and what they are intended to accomplish.
[03] Therefore, packaging is an indispensable marketing tool that affects consumers' perception of a particular product and influences their purchase decision.
[04] Glass packaging conveys a noble, sophisticated, and reliable image.
[05] Around 70% of all purchase decisions are made in-store, 50% of them are impulse-driven, and the time taken to make a purchase decision is approximately 4 seconds. In addition to helping sell the product, packaging also "sells the image of the company" that commercializes the product packed therein [SAO PAULO DESIGN PROGRAM. 2003. Sao Paulo: Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Economic Development of the State of Sao Paulo. Available on
[06] According to Lautenschlager [LAUTENSCHLAGER, B.I. 2001 . Assessment of consumption packaging on the basis of information ergonomic requirements. Florianopolis, SC. Master's Thesis. UFSC, p.109 ], the competition brought about by the growing number of packed products that fight for attention on store and supermarket shelves contributes to the development of the increasingly demanding market.
[07] Packages come in a variety of forms, models, and materials which, besides being product differentiation factors, also serve to draw consumers' attention at the time of purchase. When we speak of an attractive product, we are rarely referring to its sound, smell or touch. Human perception is largely dominated by sight and when we speak of the label style, we are referring to its visual style, because visual perception dominates other senses. The attractiveness of a product depends primarily on the visual aspect of packaging and label design [BAXTER, M. 1998. Product design: a practical guide to systematic methods of new product development. Sao Paulo, Editora Edgard Blucher Ltda, 261 p].
[08] Packing gifts in bottles has become a common practice, such bottles comprising multiple cavities that keep the gift from contacting the beverage and do not allow access to it from the outside.
[09] FR2940962 discloses a receptacle such as a perfume bottle comprising a main body that receives a liquid and, at least, an embossed pattern arranged on the main body, which may be a removable element such as an item of jewelry, said removable element being attached by a magnet, elastic attachment tabs or a combination thereof.
[010] PI9702617 discloses a package for packing an item of jewelry or bijou, a cosmetic, a doll or other small-sized object, comprising a receptacle having a recess that defines a small cavity arranged to receive a reduced size article and is closed by a thermoplastic film attached to the outer wall of said receptacle by a chemical adhesive, by an ultrasound method or any other convenient method, wherein said film optionally contains inscriptions or drawings and is arranged to be detached or torn off in order to remove the article.
[011] DE3836538 discloses a bottle having at least one separate additional filling space accessible from the outside which allows packing an article (or even a plurality of articles) unaffected by the beverage contained therein without having to open the bottle to gain access to said article. Such invention is particularly suitable for presenting items of jewelry and money in a bottle filled with champagne or any other beverage.
[012] The prior art discloses glass containers having cavities for packing articles or even arranging said articles in capsules in the inner region of the container to ensure product integrity.
[013] In case of products packed in glass containers, the possibility of making the package attractive and aggregating value to the product at the same time gives rise to numerous constructive solutions such as those disclosed in the prior art. Although the nature of the proposals of the prior art is innovative and surprising to those who receive such gifts, said proposals have proved costly, considering constructive changes necessary to form the package, which do not allow customizing the article as the packaging process becomes too complex.
[014] It is, therefore, an object of the present utility model to provide a glass container which, in addition to containing, for example, a beverage or perfume, also contains an article such as an item of jewelry in a in a capsule arranged on its outer surface, allowing access from the outside without having to open said container so as to ensure its customization at the time of purchase.
[015] The following drawings are provided to ensure a better understanding of the technical characteristics of the constructive arrangement for a glass container.
[016] Fig.1 is a perspective view of a glass container having a capsule attached to its outer surface and Fig.l A shows an item of jewelry arranged in the inner region of the capsule.
[017] Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a glass container showing a first embodiment of the capsule attached to its outer surface and Fig. 2A shows an item of jewelry arranged in the inner region of said capsule.
[018] Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a glass container showing a second embodiment of the capsule attached to its outer surface and Fig. 3A shows an item of jewelry arranged in the inner region of said capsule.
[019] The constructive arrangement for a glass container, subject matter hereof, comprises a capsule (10) arranged on the outer surface of a glass container (100) in a fixed or detachable manner, thus ensuring a suitable space for displaying an article.
[020] The capsule (10) comprises a structure having an inner chamber wherein an article such as an item of jewelry (200) is placed, said chamber being accessible from the outside through an opening protected by a cover (1 1 ).
[021] The shape (101 ) of the back side of the capsule (10) is concave and mimics that of the front side of the glass container (100).
[022] The capsule (10) is arranged on the front side of the glass container (100), preferably by gluing.
[023] The surface of the capsule (10) can be made of glass or other material.
[024] The cover (1 1 ) of the opening arranged on the capsule (10) can be connected to said capsule in a fixed manner by an articulation joint or threads, or in a detachable manner by a fitting joint.
