- the present invention is made by the task number HN12C0061 under the support of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy of Korea, the research management professional organization of the above task is a global cosmetic research and development project group,
- the present invention relates to a safflower extract or a safflower and betel nut combination extract, and more particularly to a sebum secretion alleviation or improvement cosmetic composition by stress stimulation containing a safflower extract or a safflower and betel nut combination extract as an active ingredient.
- Acne which usually occurs during puberty, is a common skin disease worldwide, which is observed in more than 85% of adolescents and sometimes persists after age 30.
- acne is a chronic inflammatory disease of the sebaceous gland of the hair follicles and is accompanied by various skin changes such as cotton cloth, papules, pus blisters, nodules, and similar cysts. In addition to problems, it can also cause interpersonal difficulties.
- This acne mainly occurs on the face, neck, chest, etc., where the sebaceous glands are concentrated, and the pores are narrowed or blocked, preventing sebum from being discharged. It is known to be active and cause acne. There are many causes of acne, but the main cause is the excessive sebum secretion by androgen, a male hormone, hyperkeratosis of the hair follicle wall, and hair follicle stimulation due to the proliferation of propionibacteriuiti acne. It is grasped.
- Sebaceous glands have the function of producing and metabolizing androgens. These androgens promote the lipid synthesis pathway by increasing the gene expression of enzymes involved in lipid synthesis.
- the corresponding enzymes include fatty acid synthase (FAS), acetyl-CoA carboxylase (acetyl-CoA carboxylase). ACO), malic enzyme, ATP-citrate lyase, and sterol® regulatory element binding protein (SREBP). It has been reported that androgen regulates the above enzymes by regulating SREBP binding to SRE (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci., 1997, 94, 12975-12980).

- acne has a tendency to increase year by year as well as adolescents as well as adolescents due to hormonal abnormalities due to external or psychological stress is showing a tendency.
- Stress is known to be a major cause of acne, which is caused by intracellular stress It is associated with increased levels of hormonal glucocorticoids and is regulated by the release of active cortisol and by the activity of ⁇ -HSDl ( ⁇ -hydroxysteroid dehydrogenasel).
- UP-HSD1 converts inactivated cortisone to active cortisol, thereby playing an important role in regulating the concentration of cellular agents and activating corticosteroid receptors in target tissues.
- Inhibition of the expression and activity of 11P-HSI) 1 has various physiological effects such as the treatment of skin wounds (Tiganescu A et al, 2014; JOE-13-0420) and the treatment of metabolic diseases such as antidiabetics (James S et al, 2013). Is being reported. However, research on the improvement of acne through the inhibition of sebaceous gland secretion in the skin is very little.
- a typical attempt to improve acne skin is conventionally used to remove sebum generated by using an adsorbent powder, or to remove dead skin cells that block pores or acne by applying salicylic acid, trichloric acid and trihydroxy palmitic acid to the cosmetic composition.
- How to prevent and treat acne by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and by using the Evening Primrose Seed Extract to inhibit sebum secretion by inhibiting the activity of 5 alpha -reductase or in the propionibacterium A method of preventing acne by applying antibacterial pine powder extract has been proposed, but still not satisfactorily satisfied.
