Abstract

A sanitary article for preventing contact between a user's hand and a surface to be cleaned is disclosed, The article comprises a shell of barrier material, which is initially impermeable and is configured to define a recess for receiving a user's hand through an open end of the recess such that the user's hand may be enveloped by the barrier material. The shell of barrier material is at least partially covered by an absorbent material, wherein the barrier material and the absorbent material at least partially dissolve or disintegrate in water or are at least partially biodegradable.
