- the coverage level of the UE is not carried in the paging message of the old version, and the paging message of the new version carries the current storage of the core network device.
- the coverage level of the UE When receiving the paging message that does not carry the coverage level, the base station defaults to paging the UE on the worst coverage level. When the paging message carries the coverage level, the base station pages the UE on the channel corresponding to the coverage level.
- the UE when the core network device is the first version of the core network device, the UE can only be paged according to the traditional paging method. That is, the core network device sends a PAGING message to the base station to initiate a paging process through the interface between the base station and the core network. Because the core network device of the first version does not have the capability of storing the coverage level of the UE, the paging message does not carry the coverage level of the UE. . The base station receives the paging message from the first version of the core network device, and uniformly pages the UE on the worst coverage level. That is, when the first version of the core network device is connected to the base station, whether it is a new version UE or an old version UE, the paging message can only be received at the worst coverage level.
