Abstract

An objective of the present invention is to provide a chip compressing apparatus capable of compressing chips in 3 directions and also capable of dropping chips fed to a hopper through an input hole of a compressing chamber, then closing the input hole at the same time, and opening the input hole to automatically supply chips to the compressing chamber. To this end, a chip compressing apparatus that compresses chips generated from processing metals and forms chunks thereof is characterized by comprising: a hopper for supplying the chips; a compressing chamber installed at the bottom of the hopper, and having an input hole formed therein through which chips from the hopper fall; a first cylinder installed on one side of the compressing chamber and including a rod that moves forward and backward during operation, and a first pressing plate provided on the leading end of the rod to press and compress chips inside the compressing chamber through the forward movement of the first rod; and a cover member installed to be linked to the operation of the first cylinder in order to close or open the input hole through the operation of the first cylinder.
