Abstract
This invention relates to the improvement in aluminium unitized panel curtain wall systems by using a connection to a concrete floor that eliminates the need for an anchor tie. Therefore the panel is coupled by the side profiles having integrated steel reinforcing plates with the reinforced concrete flooring.
Description
ALUMINIUM UNITIZED PANEL CURTAIN WALL SYSTEM
DESCRIPTION
This invention relates to the improvement in aluminium unitized panel curtain wall system that eliminates the need for the anchor tie while coupling the side profile with the reinforced concrete flooring in aluminium unitized panel curtain wall system. Today, a notching surface is drilled on the side profiles for inserting the reinforced concrete /flooring into the part between the side profiles in aluminium unitized panel curtain wall systems. The notching space drilled in the side profiles weakness the space, which entails an anchor tie from the below and above upon the reinforced concrete /flooring, which is inserted between the notching. On examining the previous inventions /systems, a protection has been demanded by referring to the advantages of using sub anchor tie. However, presence of an anchor tie both below and above require drilling a number of screw anchor holes on the reinforced concrete in the systems that are in use today, whereas this is likely to reduce the resistance of the reinforced concrete / flooring. Again, an anchor tie both below and above the systems that are in use today lead to unnecessary workforce and waste of time, resulting in increased costs. In addition, as the employees have to work from downstairs to upstairs while drilling the sub anchor tie, it is difficult to safeguard performance of the sub anchor tie safely. In addition, double-sided anchor both from below and above result in some noises as no sufficient control movement is given at the time of expansion.
The rear of the notching surface in the side profiles involved in the aluminium unitized panel curtain wall system is equipped with a steel reinforcing plate in a form compatible with the notching surface. In this way, resistance of the notching part in the side profile is increased, and an anchor only from the upper side becomes sufficient for fixing the side profile onto reinforced concrete/flooring, consequently there is no longer a need for an anchor tie from the below. An anchor tie only from the above with no need for an anchor tie from the below prevents workforce and waste of time, shortens the assembling time and reduces total costs.
As the invention product eliminates the need for an anchor tie from downstairs to upstairs, and that it eliminates the need for an downwards anchor tie, which is challenging for the assembly workers also adds to the workers' safety. The invention product enables solving the facade system with a minimum distance outwards from the flooring system. This allows architects to enjoy flexibility in design.
The invention product allows that fewer screw anchors are drilled on the reinforced concrete system, thus the bearing capacity of the flooring is even higher compared to that of the currently existing systems.
The invention system makes less noise for a better acoustic performance at the time of facade expansion movements that are likely to emerge from the temperature differences as the coupling is retained at fewer points.
The invention product is shown in the enclosed figures;
Figure -1 View of the profiles and notching surfaces in the invention product;
Figure -2 A perspective view of the invention products;
Figure -3 Detailed view of the invention product that shows steel reinforcing plates and anchors (rear)
Figure -4 Detailed view of the invention product that shows steel reinforcing plates and anchors (front)
Meaning of the part numbers shown in these figures are as follows,
1- Side profile
2- Notching surface
3- Steel reinforcing plate
4- Anchors (plate anchors)
5- Reinforced concrete coupling anchors
A steel reinforcing plate (3) in a form compatible with the notching surface is added to rear of the notching surface (2) in the side profiles (1) equipped with the aluminium unitized panel curtain wall system. This steel reinforcing plate (3), which is added to
both profiles (1), increases resistance of the part where the notching surface (2) exists in the side profiles (1). The anchors (plate anchors) (4) on the upper part of the invention product establish connection to the reinforced concrete/flooring from the ends with the help of screws, connecting from the reinforced concrete coupling anchors (5) from one end to the steel reinforcing plates (3) that are, in turn, fastened to the side profile (1) from the other. That is, the load bearing from the connection with the reinforced concrete /flooring falls on the part upon the notching surface (2) in the side profile (1), and the load is easily carried thanks to the steel reinforcing plate (3) in this section. As steel reinforcing plate (3) is used in the invention product, the need for the lower anchor tie, which is mandatory for other systems, is eliminated, and unnecessary work force and waste of time are prevented. As a steel reinforcing plate (3) is used in the invention product, the need for the lower anchor tie is eliminated, assembling time is shortened and costs are reduced.
As a steel reinforcing plate (3) is used in the invention product, the need for the lower anchor tie, which is mandatory for other systems, is eliminated, which enables solving the facade system with a minimum distance outwards from the flooring system, and allows architects to enjoy flexibility in design. Again, as invention product eliminates the need for lower anchor tie, fewer screw anchors are drilled on the reinforced concrete system, which, in turn, enables that the bearing capacity of the reinforced concrete / flooring is even higher compared to currently existing systems. Again, as invention product eliminates the need for lower anchor tie, coupling is performed from fewer points, and this makes less noise for a better acoustic performance at the time of facade expansion movements that are likely to emerge from the temperature differences. As the aforecited advantages will increase the competitive edge of the companies that use the products /system, the invention product will be preferred more than the other products.
