OBJETO DE LA INVENCION OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a heat exchanger, of the type of which is constituted by a tubular housing through which a fluid circulates and within which a series of helical ducts or tubes are established through which a second circulates fluid, responsible for exchanging heat with the first fluid. The object of the invention is to provide a new structuring concept for the helical tubes arranged inside the heat exchanger housing, in order to achieve greater efficiency, or what is the same, an optimal heat transfer between the fluids circulating inside the housing and inside the helical tubes.

ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓN BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

As is known, a heat exchanger is an apparatus in which there is a heat transfer between two moving fluids (liquid or gaseous) that are separated by some solid material (metal, ceramic, plastic, etc.) that allows the passage of Heat from hot fluid to cold fluid without both fluids mixing. One of the types of heat exchangers based on the aforementioned characteristics, is that which is known as "casing and tube", this being the most common in industrial applications, so that in this type of exchanger they can be distinguished from their Two versions, those in which the flow of fluid through the helical tubes and through the housing, have the same direction, that is, they are parallel flows in the direction of circulation, while the other type is that of the fluids they circulate against the flow, that is to say in one direction in the housing and in the opposite direction in the inner helical tubes.

Well, in both situations what is intended is that the external fluid, that is to say that circulates inside the housing, makes intimate contact with the tubes, so that to cause that intimate contact sometimes deflectors are used that they divert to the external fluid, that is, the one that circulates through the housing, to enter into turbulent contact with the surface of the helical tubes through which the other fluid circulates, thereby eliminating the boundary layer adhered externally to the tube, which is the inhibitor of heat transmission However, when the tubes are helical, no baffles are used, since the external fluid is forced to change direction permanently and in a rotational manner, following the propeller of the inner tube, so that the fluid tends to surround the helical tube without Breaking the fluid boundary layer that is bound to the outside of it, with the consequent decrease in heat transfer.

These casing exchangers with helical tubes, are usually configured in a cluster of a certain number of tubes, all of them turning to the right or to the left, so that the external fluid tends to turn in one direction or another, tending to move in the closeness of the tubular surface, in laminar regime and logically without the total elimination of the boundary layer that continues to limit the heat transfer between both fluids.

DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓN DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The heat exchanger that is recommended, based on the so-called type of casing and tubes, and these of helical configuration, has the particularity that the helical tubes are mounted in pairs with the propellers changed in one and the other of each couple, that is to say one propeller on the right and one on the left for each pair of tubes included inside the exchanger housing, therefore being the total number of helical tubes or coils, so that with each pair there is an intersection of two propellers right and left, which may or may not be welded together.

In this way, the fluid that circulates through the housing, that is to say the external one, will meet, every half turn of the propeller, with a branch that turns in the other direction, causing a deviation of the flow and the consequent turbulence that entails the elimination of the boundary layer and increasing the heat transfer coefficients between both fluids.

The ideal number of couples (right-left) will be those that generate a cylindrical distribution that is coupled to the cylindrical housing, the exchanger being able to have a pair of helical tubes, three couples, seven couples, thirteen couples, nineteen couples, etc. although also the pairs (right-left) could be placed in other distributions in which the housing does not have a cylindrical shape, such as square, rectangular configurations, or any other appropriate configuration. Another characteristic is that each pair of helical tubes can present or be carried out in a linear direction without return, that is, with an inlet and an outlet in the two tubes, or with fluid return, entering at one end and leaving at the opposite end. from another couple's tube.

In short, it is a new conception of the arrangement of helical tubes belonging to a heat exchanger of the "shell and tubes" type, which provides or produces hyper-turbulence in the fluid that circulates inside the shell, removing the boundary layer of the external surface of the coil that constitutes the corresponding helical tube, favoring the normal transfer of heat between both fluids. Consequently, there is an increase in heat transfer coefficients compared to the exchangers used so far.

REALIZACIÓN PREFERENTE DE LA INVENCIÓN PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

(1) through which a fluid circulates, according to the arrows indicated in Figure 3, and inside that casing (1) pairs of helical ducts (2) through which a heat transfer fluid circulates, in order that there is a heat transfer between the fluids of the pairs of helical tubes (2) and the fluid that circulates inside the housing (1), being seen in this case as the circulation of the fluid through the pairs of helical tubes (2 ), is countercurrent with respect to what is established inside the housing (1). In any case, and according to the object of the invention, each pair of helical tubes (2), includes two tubes (2 ') and (2 ") with the propeller in one case to the right and in another case to the left, as indicated by the arrows represented in figure 1, so that the number of pairs of tubes

(2) which will include the cylindrical body (1) or casing of the exchanger, may be 1, 3, 7, 13, the resulting being always an even number of tubes, seen in Figure 5, as inside the housing (1) three pairs of helical tubes (2 '-2 ") are located, this occurs whenever it is a cylindrical housing, since the number of tubes or pair of tubes (2) can be any other when try square, triangular, pentagonal configuration housings, etc.

In other words, the number of pairs (right-left) (2) of tubes (2 ') and (2 ") will be ideal provided that a cylindrical distribution is generated that fits inside the cylindrical housing (1), such as it is represented, in figure 5, although the pairs (right-left) the pairs of tubes (2) could also be placed in other distributions in which the housing (1) does not have the cylindrical shape, if not that they could be square housing , triangular or others.

Figure 2 shows the pair of tubes (2), where the tubes (2 ') and (2 "), logically helical, have a common inlet, through the end (4) and a common outlet through the ends (5), that is where the direction of fluid flow in the tubes (2 ') and (2 ") is the same, although both tubes (2') and ( 2 ") present their propellers to the right and left, as indicated by the arrows (6) represented in that figure 2. In this figure as in figure 3, the fluid circulation is linear without return, while in figure 4 the pair of helical tubes (2 ') and (2 ") offer a return of the fluid.

Experimentally it has been proven that this configuration (right-left pairs) significantly improves the heat transfer between the two fluids, although these geometries make the fluid that circulates inside the housing produces a greater flow through the inlet area, so that there is a lack of uniformity in the circulating flow, which translates into a slight decrease in the performance of the device, for which it is envisaged that, in correspondence with the ends of the housing (1), both cameras are defined (7) in which an inner wall (8), equipped with a plurality of holes (9), through which the fluid to be heated or cooled is passed, so that said chambers are crossed by the common duct (10-) 10 ') of the fluid circulating through the helical tubes, while including an outlet / inlet (l l-Ι) depending on the chamber, so that the circulation of the external fluid is uniform.

Said uniform circulation is achieved by an adequate distribution of the holes (9), which can have the same diameter with irregular distribution dependent on the distance to the exit / inlet holes (l l-Ι), or be grouped regularly with increasing diameters depending on the distance to the exit / entry holes (11-1 Γ).

Similarly, said holes (9) do not necessarily have to be circular.
