Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of wireless communication technologies, and in particular, to a tracking area updating apparatus, system, and method.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of an attach process provided by the prior art.
- the UE and the Mobility Management Entity (MME) perform an interaction procedure of an Attach Request/Attach Accept/Attach Complete, and the MME carries the tracking area in the attach confirmation message.
- a list of the Tracking Area Identity (TAI) is given to the UE.
- TAI Tracking Area Identity
- the MME When the UE is in the idle state, the MME needs to send a paging message to the UE based on the TAI list information, and generally sends a paging message to the UE in all the TAIs included in the TAI list and all the cells included in each TAI.
- Message. 2 is a schematic flowchart of a paging message provided by the prior art.
- the first paging (paging) message sent by the MME to the evolved Node B (abbreviated as eNB) carries the TAI.
- the eNB sends a second paging message of the air interface to the UE in the cell belonging to the TAI list, wherein the first paging message sent by the MME to the eNB is different from the content of the second paging message sent by the eNB to the UE.
- the TAI list of the UE is a tracking area range composed of a certain number of cells.
- the network can find the UE by sending a paging message.
- the UE moves out of the tracking area, that is, when the reselected cell is not in the tracking area, the UE can also page the UE when there is downlink service, that is, the TAU process is performed, and FIG. 3 is the existing
- the schematic diagram of the TAU process provided by the technology referring to FIG. 3, obtains the Tracking Area Code (TAC) of the cell from the cell broadcast message when the UE is in the idle state, and triggers the tracking if the TAC does not belong to the TAI list. Tracking Area Update process TAU. As shown in FIG.
- the TA update process is performed between the UE and the MME, and the specific interaction includes: tracking area update request/tracking area update confirmation/tracking area update completion.
- the process is used by the MME to obtain the latest tracking area information of the UE, and the UE obtains the updated information from the MME.
- TAI list In this way, the MME can still page to the UE. Further, the range of coverage of the TAI list is related to the signaling load. When the TAI list covers a large range, the chance of triggering the TAU process is reduced, but if paging is required, the required paging signaling overhead is Will increase.
- a TAI list of suitable coverage is set based on the signaling load.
- High-speed rails are generally covered by wireless private networks. And the speed of the current high-speed rail can reach 350 km / h, but when the terminal moves across the cell at such a high speed, the existing TAU process trigger mechanism will enable a large number of terminals in the high-speed rail to densely trigger TAU in a short time. The process generates a signaling storm, causing network congestion.
