Abstract

Protective material comprises a substrate and a receptor binding molecule capable of binding to a filo virus GP glycoprotein (GP) envelope. It can be made into clothing for use by people who may come into contact with filo viruses or are infected with filo viruses. The protective material binds the filo virus and stops its infectivity. It can therefore be used as protective clothing and virus-containing clothing,as curtains etc. in hospitals which might come into contact with and harbour the filo viruses. The receptor binding molecule capable of binding to a filo virus GP glycoprotein (GP) envelope is carrageenan or Galactose oxidase.
