Definitions
- the present invention relates to a brace that induces a rotational movement of the head.
- spastic torticollis a disease called spastic torticollis.
- Spastic torticollis is a type of local dystonia that causes involuntary movements such as tilting, twisting, and shaking the neck in either the left, right, up, or down directions.
- Spastic torticollis is also called cervical dystonia.
- Physiotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and surgical treatment are being used to treat spastic torticollis. Physical therapy is relaxed biofeedback through autonomous training.
- the drug treatment is an injection of Clostridium botulinum toxin.
- Surgical treatment includes deep brain stimulation, selective peripheral nerve blockade, and accessory nerve decompression.
- Patent Document 1 there are known devices that use hanger reflex to eliminate spastic necks (for example, Patent Document 1).
- the appliance described in Patent Document 1 is substantially elliptical and elastic. Since the length of the short axis of the brace corresponds to the width of the head, when the brace is fitted to the temporal part of the head, the brace abuts near the temporal part. In this case, pressures facing each other in a straight line act in the center direction from the left and right side heads of the head, and the appliance can be mounted in a stable state. Such a brace is shifted and worn to induce head rotation.
- the pressure acts oppositely on a straight line in the direction toward the inside at the temporal region before being mounted with a shift.
- the position where the brace abuts on the head is shifted.
- the brace is substantially elliptical, the pressure on the head is not in a straight line.
- the brace in this state is accompanied by the skin of the abutted head and generates a force to return to the original stable state.
- the skin deformation of the contact portion of the brace occurs due to the slack of the skin of the head.
- Such a device described in Patent Document 1 induces a rotational movement in a direction opposite to the direction of the rotational movement of the head, which is a symptom of the patient, in accordance with the symptom of the patient with spastic torticollis. Contributes to the relief of symptoms. Specifically, it is possible to relax the patient's rotation by attaching a brace to a patient who causes clockwise rotation to induce counterclockwise rotation.
- Patent Document 1 has a problem that it is difficult to sell it as a general product.
- the size of the brace is determined in accordance with the wearer's head size. Therefore, it is ideal to determine the size of the brace in order to suit the head size of each wearer.
- creating and selling a custom-made brace is not versatile, is bothering the wearer, and is not preferable from a cost standpoint.
- brace by utilizing the elasticity of the brace, it is possible to expand the product by standardizing it to some brace size by giving the wearer a wide head size. However, it is necessary to sell each of a plurality of sizes of devices in order to be effectively worn by more wearers, which is not preferable from the viewpoint of size management and cost. Furthermore, there is a problem that the wearer is troublesome to search for the size of the brace that matches the size of the head.
- an object of the present invention is to provide a brace that can be adjusted to the size of the wearer's head and induces a rotational movement of the head.
- the feature of the present invention includes an outer layer part that maintains a substantially elliptical shape, and a buffer part that is provided on the inner periphery of the outer layer part and cushions a predetermined portion of the head, and has a substantially elliptical shape. If the short axis of the head is shifted from the state corresponding to the width of the head, a device that induces a rotational movement of the head is formed by forming a pressing part that presses a predetermined part of the head with a stronger force than before the shift. About.
- the outer layer portion includes a portion to be adjusted that can approach or separate in a substantially elliptical minor axis direction, and the length of the substantially elliptical minor axis corresponds to the width of the head. And adjusting means for adjusting the adjusted portion.
- the change rate in the minor axis direction of the substantially elliptical shape by the adjustment of the adjusting means is larger than the change rate in the major axis direction of the substantially elliptical shape.
- the adjusting means is preferably formed of a connecting member having non-stretchability or difficulty stretchability.
- the outer layer portion has a substantially C-shape formed by providing an opening in front or rear of a substantially elliptical long axis direction, and the connecting member is preferably disposed so as to connect the opening.
- the connecting member is preferably formed at a position that does not press the head.

- the brace 1 has a substantially elliptical shape, and is worn so as to be in close contact with the vicinity of the temporal region (the temple) of the wearer's head 11.
- the orthosis 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention is worn by shifting from a state in which the length of the substantially elliptical short axis corresponds to the width of the head 11.
- a pressing portion that presses a predetermined portion of the head 11 with a stronger force than before shifting is formed, and the rotational motion of the head is induced.
- compression portions 24a and 24b that respectively compress at least two locations are formed.
- the brace 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention can be applied to a therapeutic instrument for spastic torticollis, and in particular, can relieve the symptoms of the spastic spastic neck of the convoluted system.
- the orthosis 1 is not limited to spastic neck and can contribute to alleviation of head neck and other symptoms that indicate head position abnormalities.
- the wearer wears the brace 1 so that the substantially elliptical short axis corresponds to the line connecting the heads on both sides. Therefore, in the embodiment of the present invention, the “major axis direction” corresponds to the front-rear direction of the wearer when the appliance 1 is worn in front, and the “short axis direction” is the case where the appliance 1 is worn in front. This corresponds to the left and right direction of the wearer.
- the orthosis 1 includes an outer layer portion 2, a buffer portion 3, and adjustment means 4.
- the case where the adjusting means 4 has a belt shape will be described.
- the present invention can be applied to the case where the adjusting means 4 is not a belt shape.
- the appliance 1 according to the embodiment can be applied.
- the brace 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention is adjusted by the adjusting means 4 in the short axis direction of the substantially elliptical shape of the brace 1 in accordance with the width of the wearer's head 11.
- the length can be adjusted.
- the outer layer portion 2 has an elasticity that can be attached to the head portion 11.
- aluminum whose surface is anodized may be considered.
- the outer layer portion 2 When the outer layer portion 2 is formed of the above-described aluminum, it has a width of about 2 cm and a thickness of about 2 mm, for example. The width and thickness of the outer layer portion 2 are appropriately set according to the degree of rotation to be induced and the material.

- substantially elliptical shape means a shape in which opposite portions of a circle are crushed, and may not be an ellipse that can be expressed algebraically.
- the outer layer portion 2 has a shape that passes through both heads of the wearer.
- the outer layer portion 2 has a substantially C shape formed by providing an opening in front or rear in the major axis direction of a substantially elliptical shape. In the embodiment of the present invention, a case where an opening is provided behind the wearer will be described, but the opening may be provided forward. As shown in FIG. 1, both sides of the opening of the outer layer portion 2 are connected by a connecting member that forms the adjusting means 4.
- the outer layer portion 2 has adjusted portions 23a and 23b that can approach or leave in a substantially elliptical minor axis direction.
- the to-be-adjusted parts 23a and 23b are respectively provided near the minor axis of the appliance 1 as shown in FIG.
- the parts to be adjusted 23a and 23b are closest to the vicinity of the temporal region of the head 11 of the wearer when the brace 1 is worn in front of the wearer and the adjusting means 4 is worn so as to be positioned at the back of the wearer. It is provided in the part to do. Thereafter, the adjusting means 4 adjusts the positions of the adjusted parts 23a and 23b so that the adjusted parts 23a and 23b abut each other in the vicinity of the wearer's temporal region.
- the positions of the adjusted parts 23a and 23b are adjusted so as to fit the shapes of the heads of various wearers having different sizes.
- the variable widths of the adjusted portions 23a and 23b are appropriately set depending on the shape of the head of the wearer in the sales area of the brace 1. Specifically, considering the shape of the Japanese head, it is known that the head width of 90% or more of the Japanese head falls within an error range of 2.5 cm. Therefore, in the case of the brace 1 sold in Japan, the distance between the adjusted parts 23a and 23b may have a variable width of about 2.5 cm in order to adapt to the shape of many Japanese heads. preferable. This variable width is adjusted by the material of the outer layer portion 2, the size of the opening, and the like.
- the connecting member forming the adjusting means 4 is the head It arrange
- both sides of the opening of the outer layer part 2 are provided extending to the back head position.
- both sides of the opening of the outer layer part 2 are provided on both side heads, depending on the curve shape of the back of the head 11, the connecting member connecting both sides strongly presses the back of the head, The compression part may not be formed properly. Therefore, by forming both sides of the opening of the outer layer portion 2 so as to extend to the occipital position and making the connection member not press the head portion 11, appropriate compression portions 24a and 24b can be formed.
- the adjusted portions 23a and 23b are provided near the short axis of the brace 1 and near the temporal region of the head 11.
- the adjusted portions 23a and 23b are provided at a position away from the side head, such as behind the side head of the appliance 1, and the adjusting means 4 adjusts the adjusted portions 23a and 23b so that the appliance 1 may be adjusted to the width of the head 11.
- the brace 1 includes three or more to-be-adjusted parts, and the adjusting means 4 adjusts each of these to-be-adjusted parts to adjust the length of the brace 1 in the minor axis direction to the width of the head 11. good. Or when one of right and left of the brace 1 is fixed, the part to be adjusted may be provided on the other side that is not fixed. In this case, the adjusting means 4 may adjust the portion to be adjusted (one that is not fixed) so that the substantially elliptical short axis corresponds to the width of the head 11.
- the buffer portion 3 is provided on the inner periphery of the outer layer portion 2 and buffers a predetermined portion of the head portion 11.
- Predetermined portions of the head 11 include the front side of the temporal region and the rear side of the temporal region, the upper portion of the frontal region and the lower portion of the occipital region, the lower portion of the frontal region and the upper portion of the occipital region, Forehead left upper and occipital right lower, forehead right upper and occipital left lower, frontal left lower and occipital right upper, or forehead right lower and occipital left It is the upper side.
- the buffer portion 3 is formed of a material that has a frictional force that can rotate the brace 1 and that generates extremely strong friction when it can be fixed to the head 11 when a strong contact occurs at the compression point.
- the buffer part 3 is preferably a urethane resin, for example.
- the thickness of the material of the buffer portion 3 may be determined as appropriate depending on the material, but is about 3 mm in the case of the urethane resin of the embodiment.
- the buffer portion 3 is provided on the entire inner periphery of the outer layer portion 2 , but is not limited thereto.
- the buffer portion 3 is provided on the inner periphery of the position where the compression portions 24a and 24b are formed when the orthosis 1 is mounted on the front surface and near the temporal region when the device 1 is mounted with a shift.
- the buffer unit 3 may be omitted.
- the adjusting means 4 adjusts the adjusted parts 23 a and 23 b so that the substantially elliptical short axis corresponds to the width of the head 11.
- the adjusting means 4 is adjusted so as to be close to or away from the substantially elliptical minor axis direction, and when the appliance 1 is mounted on the front surface, the adjusted portions 23a and 23b abut on the wearer's temporal region. Then, the positions of the adjusted parts 23a and 23b are adjusted.
- the adjusting means 4 is formed of a connection member (belt) having non-stretchability or difficulty stretchability.
- the connecting member is disposed so as to connect the opening of the outer layer portion 2.
- the adjusting means 4 may be any member as long as it does not expand and contract following the opening and closing of both sides of the opening of the outer layer portion 2.
- the adjusting means 4 (connecting member) is formed so as not to prevent induction of rotation of the head 11.
- the connecting member of the adjusting means 4 is, for example, a hook-and-loop fastener.
- one of the hook portion and the loop portion of the hook-and-loop fastener is provided inside the connecting member, and the other one of the hook portion and the loop portion of the hook-and-loop fastener is provided outside the outer layer portion 2.
- hook portions 41 of a hook-and-loop fastener are fixed to the inner side (head side) of both sides of the adjusting means 4 by a double-sided tape, an adhesive, or the like.
- the loop part 22 of a hook-and-loop fastener is fixed to the outer side (opposite side to the head part) near both ends of the outer layer part 2 by a double-sided tape, an adhesive or the like. Since the loop portion 22 of the outer layer portion 2 is provided long in the circumferential direction, both sides of the adjusting means 4 can be fixed at desired positions. Therefore, the adjusting means 4 can lock the opening of the outer layer portion 2 at an appropriate position and adjust the distance between the adjusted portions 23a and 23b.
- the adjusting means 4 locks the adjusted portions 23a and 23b at desired positions so that the positions of the adjusted portions 23a and 23b are not separated from a predetermined width.
- the brace 1 is more than the distance of the width of the head 11 of the wearer. It does not spread greatly. Thereby, when it mounts
- the adjusting means 4 prevents the positions of the adjusted portions 23a and 23b from separating from the “predetermined width”.
- the “predetermined width” is larger than a value corresponding to the width of the head 11.
- the “predetermined width” is a width in which the outer layer portion 2 is pushed and widened when the appliance 1 is mounted while being displaced, and is a width that allows the head portion 11 to be appropriately compressed in the compression portions 24a and 24b.
- FIG. 1 shows a case where the adjusted parts 23a and 23b are provided away from each other in the minor axis direction
- FIG. 2 shows a case where the adjusted parts 23a and 23b are provided close to each other.
- the width W1 of the adjusted portions 23a and 23b in FIG. 1 is wider than the width W2 of the adjusted portions 23a and 23b in FIG.
- the parts to be adjusted 23a and 23b are connected to the hook part 41 of the adjusting means 4 at a position close to the end of the outer layer part 2 of the loop part 22, so that the portion where the belt of the adjusting means 4 and the outer layer part 2 overlap is small.
- a portion where the belt of the adjusting means 4 and the outer layer portion 2 do not overlap each other becomes large.
- the adjusted portions 23a and 23b are also provided away from each other, and the width W1 of the adjusted portions 23a and 23b is fixed widely. Can do.
- the adjusted portions 23a and 23b are portions where the belt of the adjusting means 4 and the outer layer portion 2 overlap by connecting the hook portion 41 of the adjusting means 4 at a position far from the end of the outer layer portion 2 of the loop portion 22. And the portion of the adjusting means 4 where the belt and the outer layer portion 2 do not overlap is reduced.
- the adjusted portions 23a and 23b are also provided closer, and the width W2 of the adjusted portions 23a and 23b is fixed narrowly. Can do.
- the distance between the adjusted portions 23a and 23b can be appropriately adjusted.
- the width W of the brace 1 that is in close contact with the head 11 can be adjusted appropriately, so that this single product can be applied to many wearers of a wide size.
- the adjusting means 4 is a connecting member (belt) having non-stretchability or difficulty stretchability, so that the rigidity is low and the shape is easily deformed.
- the outer layer part 2 has elasticity and is provided with an opening, the brace 1 is deformed in a direction to close the opening even when the outer layer part 2 is fixed with a belt.
- the width of the temporal region of the head 11 is adjusted and locked so that the widths W of the adjusted portions 23a and 23b correspond to each other.
- the width W of the adjusted portions 23 a and 23 b will not be shorter than the width of the side of the head 11. Further, the width W of the adjusted portions 23a and 23b is slightly widened by the elasticity of the outer layer portion 2, but is locked by the adjusting means 4 so as not to be greatly widened. Therefore, the brace 1 can give appropriate compression by the elasticity of the outer layer part 2 in the compression parts 24a and 24b.
- the outer layer portion 2 is provided with support portions 21 on both sides of the opening of the outer layer portion 2 as shown in FIGS.
- the support portion 21 may be provided at both ends of the opening of the outer layer portion 2 and may serve as a cap that covers both ends.
- the support portion 21 includes a screwing portion 21a and a hole 21b.
- the support part 21 is provided so as to cover each end of the outer layer part 2 by inserting a screw with the screwing part 21a.
- the hole 21b allows the connecting member to pass therethrough.
- the connecting member connects the surface fastener on the inner side of the connecting member to the outer surface fastener of the outer layer part 2 through the hole 21b.
- the hole 21b of the support portion 21 is formed so that the outside direction of the head is small, so that the connecting member of the adjusting means 4 is formed as a hole as shown in FIG. 4 (a). It may be supported by the outer edge of. Thereby, it can be set as the structure which the hook-and-loop fastener of a connection member cannot remove easily further.
- connection member is difficult to come out of the hole 21b, and the loss of the connection member can be avoided.
- FIG. 5 is a top view of a wearer with a wide head wearing the brace 1.
- the adjusted portions 23a and 23b of the brace 1 come into contact with the temporal side of the wearer.
- the distance between the adjusted parts 23a and 23b is W1.
- the front and rear of the brace 1 do not contact the wearer or are lightly touched.
- the orthosis 1 conforms to the shape of the head and is substantially elliptical, it can be rotated while attached to the head 11. Therefore, when the brace 1 is rotated in the temporal direction, due to the elastic effect of the outer layer portion 2, the brace 1 is displaced between the shape of the head 11 and the brace 1 due to the rotation. As a result, as shown in FIG. 5B, for example, two compression portions 24a and 24b are formed, and force is applied to the compression portions 24a and 24b.
- the appliance 1 rotated in this manner reaches the limit of deformation while in contact with the compression parts 24 a and 24 b of the head 11, and remains stationary while pressing the head 11.
- the outer layer portion 2 of the brace 1 has elasticity, so that the outer layer portion 2 is deformed outward at the compression portions 24a and 24b, so that the distance between the compression portions 24a and 24b becomes W1a (> W1).
