Abstract

Disclosed herein is a cellulolytic acidogenic Clostridium bacterium transformed to overexpress aldehyde/alcohol dehydrogenase for biofuel production. Also disclosed are methods of expressing a heterologous gene sequence in a cellulolytic acidogenic Clostridium bacterium. Also disclosed herein are methods of producing a biofuel from cellulose. Disclosed is also an in vivo method for methylating a plasmid containing heterologous genes for expression in a Clostridium bacterium.
