Abstract

Method and packing unit for producing a sealed package of a package containing a product (2; 57) of parallelepiped shape which, in turn has a front wall (5), a back wall (6), two lateral walls (7), a bottom wall (4) and a top wall (3); in which the sealed inner package (1) encloses the product (2; 57) and is made from a heat-sealable sheet (11) of packing material folded about the product (2; 57) and stabilized by heat sealing; wherein the sealed inner package (1) has two longitudinal fins (24), each of which is arranged parallel to a corresponding lateral wall (7) and rests on the lateral wall (7); and wherein the sealed inner package (1) has a transverse fin (19), which is arranged parallel to the wall (5), front or rear, rests against the front wall (5), or rear wall, has an inner edge (20) correspondingly located at a transverse edge of the bottom wall (4), and an outer edge (21) correspondingly located at the front wall (5) or rear wall.
