Definitions

  • This patent application refers to an invisible implantable respiratory prosthesis which is intended to bring air from the back of the nose to the rhinopharynx through deep planes of the neck to the trachea or even the hypopharynx.
  • This heated, purified and humidified air is necessary for the treatment of sleep apnea, snoring and pharyngeal or laryngeal stenosis.
  • This prosthesis enables a surgery created by the patent applicant, which aims to solve severe problems of sleep apnea, pharynx and larynx stenosis, which affects thousands of people worldwide and which, until then, has been treated with clinical, surgical and other treatments, with very ineffective results that leave much to be desired.
  • TECHNICAL STATUS At present there are external devices intended to assist in respiration and inhibition of apnea, however implantable prosthetic devices are not known, or do not exist.
  • the present respiratory prosthesis that carries air from the nose to the trachea or hypofannge through the deep planes of the neck has no any similar on the market being used for the first time in performing an unprecedented surgery, created and described by the applicant of that patent application.
  • the present Respiratory Prosthesis was developed to bring air from the nose to the trachea or hypopharynx through a deep plane of the neck that carries the air that passed through the nostrils, already benefiting from the purification process.
  • humidification and preheating, or conditioning which would be the function of the nasa ⁇ mucosa, going through the deep pianos of the neck to its penetration into the trachea, residing beneath the skin and being totally invisible. Therefore, this present modality of prosthesis described herein does not depend on any special care, or even, it does not depend on any care, and may simply reside permanently implanted, or for as long as desired.

  • Another prosthesis with the same purpose or function has, at one end, a bifurcation of the Y-tube, forming two tube legs, each having a curvature of about 90 degrees so that the open end of each tube within the pits Nasal is facing down towards the floor of the nose so no secretion but only air. These ends can be placed inside the nasal passages in any position from the vestibule to the choanae. It is an option of the first prosthesis.
