It will be appreciated that the shape and dimensioning of the taper, and thus the provided spaces 620, 622 around the sides 616, 618 can vary in different embodiments. In this embodiment, the spaces are provided symmetrically around the sides 616, 618, so that the pillow 600 can be used in either "front-to-back” or "back-to front” position. It will be appreciated, however, that in different embodiments the spaces may only be provided extending from the front to one or both sides, or only around one side.
  • the peaks e.g. 632 have sloping end portions e.g. 634 for providing a gradual transition into the trough of the cradle 614 towards the center line 628.
  • the mold 600 and thus the fabricated pillow, comprises elevated, sloping edge regions 638, 640 around the sides 616, 618, for reducing the likelihood of a sleeper's head sliding off the pillow 600.
  • Schematically indicated in Figure 6a) are optional breathing- or through-holes e.g. 652 for allowing air circulation.
  • the pillow 600 comprises a recess, here in the form of a substantially rectangular depression 642 of about 2 cm depth, formed substantially underneath the back head cradle 614 (compare Figure 6a)) in the bottom surface 644 of the pillow 600.
  • the depression 642 can be provided in different shapes and/or dimensions and/or patterns.
  • a support portion here in the form of a bar 646, is provided in the depression 642 along the center line 628. The height of the bar 646 is substantially equal to the depth of the depression 642.
  • tracks e.g. 648 extending from the sides of the depression 642 to the respective sides of the pillow 600.
  • the tracks e.g. 648 and/or the breathing- or through-holes e.g. 652 formed in the cradle 614/bar 646 facilitate air circulation during use.
  • the tracks e.g. 648 have depths that are similar to the depth of the depression 642, and a width of about 15mm.
  • the breathing- or through holes e.g. 652 diameter may be about 8 to 10mm.
  • the breathing- or through holes e.g. 652 are formed inside the bar 646, to avoid potential pillow material crack(s) during bending action if formed in areas of thinner pillow material. It is noted that in this embodiment air circulation is still possible because typically the sleeping surface is also not air tight (such as foam mattress). It will be appreciated that different numbers, dimensions, shapes, and/or configurations of track(s) and breathing- through holes can be used in different embodiments.

  • an acupressure pillow comprises a support surface for supporting the cervical vertebrae of a person, the support surface extending along a substantially straight center line inwardly from a front end of the pillow; a toothed support structure substantially traversing the support surface, the toothed support structure comprising a first acupressure tooth disposed substantially on the straight center line and configured for exerting acupressure centrally below the occipital base of a person, and second and third acupressure teeth disposed substantially symmetrically with respect to the center line; and two acupressure protrusions disposed symmetrically with respect to the straight center line between the front end of the pillow and the toothed support structure.

  • the pillow may comprise through-holes formed in the depression for facilitating air circulation.

  • the back head depression may comprise a support formed centrally in the back head depression for resisting collapsing of the back head depression.
  • the pillow may further comprise one or more head support structures comprising peaks separated by gaps there between formed on a surface of the back head depression.

  • a magnetic structure comprises at least three magnetic devices, the magnetic devices having respective primary magnetic field directions; and a housing configured for receiving the at least three magnetic devices in a stacked arrangement such that the primary magnetic field directions are aligned.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un coussin d'acupression et un procédé d'application d'acupression. Le coussin d'acupression comprend une surface de support pour supporter les vertèbres cervicales d'une personne, la surface de support s'étendant le long d'une ligne centrale sensiblement droite vers l'intérieur depuis une extrémité avant du coussin ; une structure de support dentée traversant sensiblement la surface de support, la structure de support dentée comprenant une première dent d'acupression placée sensiblement sur la ligne centrale droite et conçue pour exercer une acupression centrale en dessous de la base occipitale d'une personne, et une deuxième et une troisième dent d'acupression placées sensiblement symétriquement par rapport à la ligne centrale ; et deux protubérances d'acupression placées symétriquement par rapport à la ligne centrale droite entre l'extrémité avant du coussin et la structure de support dentée.
