Abstract

The invention relates to the field of veterinary virology and biotechnology and can be used for preparing a vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease. In order to increase the purification level of a virus-containing suspension from inactive impurities and to increase the immunogenicity of the desired product in the method for producing the vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease comprising cultivating a viral antigen in a suspension of BHK-21 cell culture at a temperature of 36-37°C, purifying the virus-containing suspension from inactive impurities, inactivating the antigen to the foot-and-mouth virus obtained by concentration, and combining the antigen concentrate with an adjuvant, according to the invention, the purification of the virus-containing suspension from inactive impurities is performed by the addition of polyguanidine derivatives in a final concentration of 0.005-0.01% or of a mixture of chloroform and polyguanidine derivatives in a weight ratios of (40-160):1, respectively, in a final concentration of 0.4-0.8, wherein 1-12-di(guanidine)hexane dihydrochloride, or bis(3-guanidino-propyl)piperazine dihydrochloride, or 3,6-dioxaoctane-1,8-diguanidine dihydrochloride, or 4,9-dioxadodecane-1,2-dibiguanide dihydrochloride is used as the polyguanidine derivatives.
