Abstract
The invention relates to a method for destruction of objects of value contained in a space (10) for valuables, wherein a destruction apparatus (20) is used, when needed, to destruct the objects of value (101-104). An inflatable holding-up balloon (30) is arranged to, at destruction, press the objects of value (101-104) towards the destruction apparatus (20). The invention also relates to an apparatus.
Description
Method and apparatus for destruction of objects of value in a space for valuables
Technical field of the invention
The present invention relates to a method for destruction of objects of value according to the preamble of claim 1. The invention also relates to an apparatus.
Background of the invention
It is a problem to, when required, achieve effective
destruction of objects of value such as for instance banknotes which are kept in a space for valuables in the form of for instance a protective casing or a money cassette to an
automated teller machine or the like.
WO 99/61741 and WO 2012/005649 exemplify a method and
apparatuses within the present technical field. Therefore, reference is made to these documents for understanding of the background art .
Object of the invention
An object of the present invention is to achieve a method and an apparatus that makes possible improving destruction, such as colouration or destruction, of objects of value according to the above. This object is achieved by the method and the apparatus having the characteristics described in the patent claims .
Advantage of the invention
The invention makes possible an extraordinary efficient destruction of objects of value.
Short description of the drawings
Embodiments of the invention will be described in more detail below with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which
Figure 1 in a longitudinal section schematically shows a space for valuables provided with an apparatus according to the invention,
Figure 2 shows schematically the space for valuables according to Figure 1 in cross section,
Figure 3 shows schematically the space for valuables in a longitudinal section after activated destruction, and
Figure 4 shows schematically the space for valuables in cross section after activated destruction.
Detailed description of the embodiment shown
In Figure 1 is shown a space 10 for valuables, in the form of for example a security bag or money cassette to an automated teller machine etc, which for example contains stacked packets of banknotes 101-104 having different height. The space 10 for valuables is alarmed so that an attempt of unauthorized access to the banknotes results in an alarm signal .
Within the space 10 is, in the example shown, arranged a destruction apparatus 20 which at alarm destroy the banknotes so that they will be marked or coloured or in any other way being made worthless.
It shall be understood that the above-mentioned destruction apparatus 20 can be designed in several ways, wherein WO
99/61741 and WO 2012/005649 show examples of destruction apparatuses. The invention is not limited to the type of destruction apparatus used.
Thus, it shall be understood that our invention can be used together with destruction apparatuses of many different embodiments .
The packets of banknotes 101-104 are sometimes enveloped which often put high demands on the efficiency of the destruction apparatus 20 to open envelopes.
Sometime, moveable supports (not shown) are arranged to secure the vicinity of the packets of banknotes 101-104 to the destruction apparatus 20, but this is often not enough for achieving an excellent result of destruction.
According to the invention a holding-up balloon 30 is arranged which during a destruction phase secures the abutment of the objects of value 101-104 against the destruction apparatus 20.
The holding-up balloon 30 is arranged in a lower region of the space 10 and at the opposite side of the space 10 of valuables relative to the destruction apparatus 20 as seen in Figure 1. In inactive condition the holding-up balloon is flattened (resting) according to Figure 1. A gas generating means 31 is arranged within or outside the holding-up balloon. The gas generating means 31 is activated at need of inflation.
The function of the holding-up balloon 30 makes the
destruction more efficient.
In Figures 3 and 4 the holding-up balloon 30 is shown in inflated condition in which it presses against the bottom region of the packets of banknotes 101-104 and thereby presses the packets of banknotes against the destruction apparatus 20 in spite of that the packets of banknotes 101-104 have
different height measures. Thus, the invention manages to be adaptable to variable heights of the packets of banknotes which are a great advantage.
At an alarm simultaneous activation of the destruction
apparatus 20 and the holding-up balloon 30 is made. Sometimes it may be advantageous to activate the inflation of the holding-up balloon a short period of time before activation of
the destruction apparatus so as to in this way achieve a maximum biasing of the packets of banknotes 101-104 towards the destruction apparatus 20. Possibilities for variation exist .
Thus, it shall be understood that the up-holding balloon according to the invention has a very important function regarding maximizing the result of the destruction.
The invention is thus not limited to that which is shown and described, it should be understood that changes and
modifications thereof are obviously possible within the scope of the following patent claims.
Claims
1. Method for destruction of objects of value which are contained in a space (10) for valuables, wherein a destruction apparatus (20) is used, when needed, to destroy the objects of value (101-104) , characterized by an inflatable holding-up balloon (30) is used so as to at destruction press the objects of value (101-104) against the destruction apparatus (20) .
2. Method according to claim 1, characterized by the holding- up balloon (30) in an inactivated resting condition is placed in flattened condition at a wall portion in the space which is opposite to a wall portion where the destruction apparatus is placed .
3. Method according to claim 1 or 2 , characterized by the holding-up balloon (30) is activated for inflation before the destruction apparatus (20) is activated for destruction.
