Abstract

The invention relates to a smart iron comprising a safety device that can be used to control the use temperature of the iron. The invention allows the soleplate of the iron to be automatically removed from the fabric when the iron is left in the horizontal position, as well as allowing the heating circuit to be stopped. In this way, electric power is saved and users and garments are protected against burns.
