Abstract

L'invention concerne une presse à granuler pour produire des granulés dans une matière à compacter, de préférence une biomasse, en vue de les utiliser comme combustible dans des foyers, la biomasse étant constituée de copeaux, de particules ou de fibres cellulosiques et/ou lignocellulosiques. La presse à granuler présente une matrice plate et une pluralité de galets roulant sur la matrice plate afin de compacter la biomasse sous forme de granulés par l'intermédiaire de trous ménagés dans la matrice plate. La presse à granulés présente en outre un élément de recouvrement qui recouvre et renferme la surface de roulement et/ou les galets. Il est prévu en particulier que l'élément de recouvrement (31) de la surface de roulement soit disposé entre les galets (5) de telle sorte qu'il se trouve entre l'axe (5) des galets et la surface de roulement (19). De cette manière, l'espace de compression (2), et ainsi la zone de poussière, entre deux galets (5) ne dépassent pas la distance entre les axes (16) et la surface de roulement (19).
