Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a wrapping paper cigarette, and more particularly to a cigarette wound with double wrapping paper.

In addition, technology development aimed at reducing the odor caused by sidestream smoke generated when cigarettes are burned has been made. For example, the odor can be reduced by including lactone in the wrapper. Known (for example, Patent Document 2)
On the other hand, there is also known a technique for improving the so-called low fire spread property that prevents the spread of cigarettes to upholstered furniture, for example, by applying an additive in a band shape on a wrapping paper around which cigarettes are wound, Attempts have been made to impart a low fire spread function by lowering the diffusion coefficient of the portion where the additive is applied (for example,
In recent years, regulations relating to low fire spread cigarettes have already come into effect in other countries such as the United States. For example, in the US, the full length burning rate (FLB rate) measured and calculated based on ASTM (American Testing Materials Association) E2187-04 standard etc. for cigarettes is a predetermined performance standard (for example, on 10 sheets of filter paper) FLB rate is less than 25%). A cigarette satisfying such a requirement has a band formed by applying a combustion inhibitor to the wrapping paper, and such a band is disposed with a gap in the axial direction of the cigarette.
The cigarette described in each of the above patent documents can achieve each purpose described in each document. However, in addition to having the characteristics described in each document, there is also a problem that other functions as a cigarette are impaired when the characteristics are satisfied. For example, when trying to achieve the low flame spread standard of cigarettes, there was a problem that cigarettes would extinguish in a static combustion state due to lowering the diffusion coefficient of the wrapper. . For this reason, in the present invention, the characteristics described in the above-mentioned prior art documents, specifically, the low fire spreadability standard is satisfied, and no cancellation occurs in the static combustion state of the cigarette. It is an object to provide a cigarette having characteristics.

The inner paper used for the cigarette of the present invention has an air permeability of 13 to 31 cholesterol units from the viewpoint of achieving both low fire spread and low extinction of the cigarette in consideration of the presence of a region having low diffusibility described later. Preferably, there are 16 to 28 coresta units.
The air permeability of the inner wrapping paper can be adjusted, for example, by adjusting the amount of filler such as calcium carbonate, fiber length, fiber beating state, and the like.
<Arrangement of outer paper and inner paper>
As described above, the cigarette of the present invention uses two wrapping papers, an outer wrapping paper and an inner wrapping paper, as wrapping paper for winding the cigarette. Cigarette wrapping paper has a felt surface and a wire surface as reference surfaces for the front and back surfaces.
In general cigarette manufacturing, the felt surface is often arranged as a surface facing the outside of the cigarette, and the wire surface is often wound so as to be arranged as a surface in contact with the tobacco cut.
In the cigarette of the present invention, an embodiment in which the felt surface of the outer wrapping paper is disposed so as to face the outer side of the cigarette and the wire surface of the inner wrapping paper is disposed in contact with the cigarette notch is preferable. Especially for the outer wrapping paper, since the felt surface is smoother and the appearance is more beautiful, at least the outer wrapping paper is arranged such that the felt surface faces the outside of the cigarette as shown in FIG. preferable.
In addition, as illustrated in FIG. 2, the outer wrapping paper and the inner wrapping are wrapped in a cigarette cut so that both ends of the inner wrapping paper are in contact with each other, and the outer periphery is wound with the outer wrapping paper. Then, a method of gluing and fixing the overlapping portions at both ends of the outer wrapping paper can be preferably mentioned.
<Low diffusion region>
As described above, in the cigarette of the present invention, at least the outer wrapping paper has a region having a specific diffusion coefficient in a specific mode.
The diffusion coefficient is 0.012 to 0.040 cm / s, particularly preferably 0.012 to 0.022 cm / s from the viewpoint of achieving both prevention of extinction while maintaining low fire spreadability.
Examples of means for providing such a diffusion region include a method of forming a film on the wrapping paper by coating and drying of a film forming material, which will be described later, and a method of applying cellulose fibers and the like on the wrapping paper. When using a method of forming a film on a wrapping paper by coating and drying a film forming material and providing a low diffusion region, the diffusion coefficient is adjusted to a specific range by appropriately adjusting the thickness of the film. be able to.
Here, when using a film forming material to lower the diffusion coefficient of the region in the wrapping paper, the amount of the film forming material to be used is increased, and when increasing the diffusion coefficient, the amount of the film forming material to be used is decreased. .
The thickness of this film can usually be 0.07 to 2.0 μm.
Note that the diffusion coefficient can be measured by using CO 2 or N 2 as a gas, making a wrapping paper as a sample in a state where no pressure loss occurs, and using a Diffusivity Tester as a measuring instrument. Diffusivity Tester manufactured by borgwaldt can be used, and measurement can be performed according to the description in the manual issued by borgwaldt.
As shown in FIG. 3, a specific method of providing a region having a specific diffusion coefficient on the outer wrapping paper is such that the felt surface of the outer wrapping paper faces the outside of the cigarette and the wire surface of the inner wrapping paper is in contact with the cigarette notch. In the case of the arrangement, there can be mentioned an embodiment in which processing is performed on the wire surface of the outer wrapping paper or the felt surface of the inner wrapping paper with a film forming material. For the sake of clarity, FIG. 3 shows that a film is present on the wire surface of the outer wrapping paper. However, an aspect in which the film forming material is impregnated into the wrapping paper and has a low diffusion region is also an aspect of the present invention. include.
Moreover, the process for providing a low-diffusion area | region may be given also to the felt surface of the inner wrapping paper in the aspect which synchronizes with not only the outer wrapping paper but the outer wrapping paper.
Of these, an embodiment in which the wire surface of the outer wrapping paper is processed with a film forming material is particularly preferable in order to improve the low-rolling fire function. Performing the process of providing a low diffusion region on the felt surface of the outer wrapping paper may impair the appearance and may damage the part during manufacturing.
<Film forming material>
In the cigarette of the present invention, as a method of processing at least the outer wrapping paper and reducing the diffusion coefficient of the processed portion to a specific range, processing using a film forming material can be mentioned. As such a membrane-shaped material, known materials can be used, for example, alginic acid and its salts (for example, sodium salt), cellulose derivatives such as pectin, polyvinyl alcohol, ethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose, starch and its Derivatives such as ether derivatives such as carboxymethyl starch, hydroxyalkyl starch and cationic starch, ester derivatives such as starch acetate, starch phosphate and starch octenyl succinate.
These film-forming materials can usually be used as a 1.0 to 30.0% by weight aqueous solution, and such an aqueous solution can be used on a desired surface of a wrapping paper by using an appropriate printing method such as gravure printing. It can be applied by printing on.
After coating, it is dried by a known appropriate method, so that a film composed of the above material is formed at a specific location on the wrapping paper.
As described above, the coating amount of the film forming material can be appropriately adjusted so that the diffusion coefficient of the coated wrapping paper falls within a desired range.
Moreover, about the shape to apply, the band shape as shown in FIG. 1 is mentioned from a viewpoint which performs application using the above printing methods.
The width of the band is usually 4 to 8 mm, and preferably 5 to 7 mm, from the viewpoint of achieving both combustibility and low fire spreadability, and the interval (from one band end to the next band end). Is usually 16 to 20 mm, preferably 17 to 19 mm.
Moreover, it is preferable that the number of the bands in a cigarette is two or more from a viewpoint of ensuring low fire spreadability. Due to manufacturing restrictions, there are usually two. In the present invention, “width” and “interval” mean the length of the cigarette in the long axis direction.
Note that the band-shaped coating region is not limited to a straight band shape, and other shapes, for example, the band may form a corrugated shape as long as the effects of the present invention are not impaired. Not.
The cigarette of the present invention can use known cigarette cuts as a material, except that two types of the above specific wrapping paper are used, and the filling amount of the cigarette cuts is usually 0.1 to 0.9 g / cm 3 . Can be filled. Moreover, a well-known acetate filter etc. can be used also for a filter. Furthermore, a known method in the case of using two wrapping papers can be used as a method for winding cigarettes.

<比較例1~6>
<Comparative Examples 1 to 6>
First, inner and outer wrapping papers having the compositions shown in Tables 1 and 2 below were prepared. The thickness of the inner wrapping paper was about 47 μm, and the thickness of the outer wrapping paper was about 43 μm. The
In any of these, the base paper was cellulose fiber paper, containing calcium carbonate as a filler, citric acid as a combustion aid, and ethyl vanillin glucoside as a sidestream smoke odor reducing agent (fragrance).
The diffusion coefficient of the wrapping paper was measured by using a Diffusivity Tester under conditions of a temperature of 23 ° C. and a humidity of 50%. The equipment used was that of borgwaldt, and the measurement was performed according to the instructions issued by the company.
The cigarettes were wound up by combining the wrapping papers listed in Tables 1 and 2 as shown in Table 3. This cigarette has a circumference of 22.6 mm, a commercial American blend increment at a packing density of 0.19 g / cm 3 , and an acetate filter. The outer wrapping paper was arranged so that its felt surface was outside the cigarette, and the inner wrapping paper was arranged so that its wire surface was in contact with the cigarette notch.
As shown in Table 3, in Comparative Example 1, the processing to give the low diffusion region to the wrapping paper was not performed, so the FLB rate was 100%. In Comparative Examples 2 and 3, although the low diffusion region was imparted to the wrapping paper, the FLB ratio was high because the location of the wrapping paper was the wire surface of the inner wrapping paper. In each of Comparative Examples 4 to 6, although a low diffusion region was imparted to the outer wrapping paper, the FLB ratio was high because the diffusion coefficient was large, and the following criteria were not satisfied.
In the table, Puff indicates the number of times of suction until reaching the reference combustion amount for cigarettes, and is used as a performance standard for cigarettes. If it is approximately 6.5 or more, it will pass.
Further, the FLB ratio in the table indicates the fire spreadability of cigarette, and is preferably approximately 20% or less, and particularly preferably 15% or less.
As described above, the extinction rate is a characteristic that is contrary to the spreadability of cigarettes. In general, the lowering of the spreadability of cigarettes increases the extinction rate.
Revocation is a negative event during smoking and it is desirable to reduce the relapse rate.
・Puff:ISO3308:2000 Routine analytical cigarette-smoking machine Definitions and standard condition
The method of cigarette analysis test items is as follows.
・ Puff: conforms to ISO3308: 2000 Routine analytical cigarette-smoking machine Definitions and standard conditions.
-FLB rate: Conforms to ASTM: E2187-04 standard.
・ Extinction rate: A measure of whether or not to self-extinguish by the end of combustion when the cigarette is spontaneously combusted in a windless environment (the tip paper part ends burning).
Cancellation rate (%) = (Number of cancellations / number of measurements) x 100

<Example 1, Comparative Examples 7 and 8>
For further study, a paper wrapper having the composition shown in Table 4 below was prepared. For the
The outer wrapping paper shown in Table 4 and the inner wrapping paper shown in Table 1 were combined as shown in Table 5, and cigarettes were produced in the same manner as in the comparative example. The outer wrapping paper was arranged so that its felt surface was outside the cigarette, and the inner wrapping paper was arranged so that its wire surface was in contact with the cigarette notch. About each obtained cigarette, the test similar to the said comparative example was done. The results are shown in Table 5.
Based on the results of the above examples and comparative examples, the relationship between the diffusion coefficient of the region processed with the film forming material, the FLB rate, and the extinction rate was analyzed by logistic regression analysis. The results are shown in FIG. From this result, it was found that the most preferable diffusion coefficient was 0.012 to 0.022 cm / s as shown in Table 6 when the FLB rate was 12.1% as the central reference.
Logistic regression analysis is an effective analysis method for predicting the occurrence probability.
The cigarette of the present invention has an excellent function of having low flame spread and low extinction, in addition to reducing sidestream smoke, which could not be achieved by a simple combination of conventional techniques. . Furthermore, according to the preferable aspect of the cigarette of this invention, reduction of sidestream smoke and the odor resulting from sidestream smoke can be suppressed.
