Abstract

Girdle for patients having undergone ostomy surgery. Said girdle provides increased safety and comfort, ensuring better quality of life for the ostomates, allowing them to resume daily work and leisure activities, and take part without fear in social life. The girdle is formed by two main components: a component that forms the main body of the girdle and is fitted around the wearer's body, and a component that consists in an attachment for containing the collecting pouch. Special cut-outs can also be added to the component that forms the main body of the girdle to cater to hernia patients, relieving this additional discomfort. The component that forms the attachment to be fitted is shaped as a girdle with a flap, and can be used for manufacturing garments such as formal trousers, swimming suits, bikinis, shorts or Bermudas for bathing in the sea, in swimming pools or going for a walk, inter alia.
