本発明に用いられるコハク酸は、以下の式:
コハク酸やクエン酸は、その塩とともに少量配合することによりpH調整剤または安定化剤(緩衝剤)として用いられる場合がある。本発明においても、コハク酸及びその塩を少量(約0.5質量%以下程度)配合した場合には、角栓溶解除去効果に加えて緩衝剤としても作用していると考えられる。一方、角栓溶解除去効果はコハク酸及び/又はその塩の配合量に応じて増減するため、より高い角栓溶解除去効果を得るために緩衝剤としての適量(約0.5質量%)を超えて(例えば、0.7質量%以上)配合できることは言うまでもなく、コハク酸又はその塩のみを単独で配合してもよい。
本発明に用いられるベントナイトは、モンモリロナイトを主成分とする公知の水膨潤性粘土鉱物である。(B)ベントナイトの配合量は、再分散型粉末分散化粧料の全体量に対して、0.01~10.0質量%、好ましくは0.05~1.0質量%で配合される。0.01質量%未満では、使用感触を損なう場合があり、優れた粉末再分散性を得るにも不十分である。また、10.0重量%を超える配合量では、粉っぽくなる傾向にある。
本発明に用いられる(C)親水性界面活性剤は、HLBが7以上の界面活性剤をさす。かかる(C)親水性界面活性剤としては、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレン・ポリオキシプロピレンアルキルエーテル、ソルビタン脂肪酸エステル、グリセリンモノアルキルエステル、ポリエチレングリコールアルキルエステル、ポリオキシエチレン硬化ヒマシ油、ポリオキシエチレンヒマシ油、ポリオキシエチレングリセリンアルキルエステル、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテルアルキルエステル、ポリオキシエチレンソルビタンアルキルエステル、ポリグリセリンアルキルエステル、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテルリン酸、ピログルタミン酸エステル、ジメチコンコポリオール、アルカロイルアルキルタウリン塩、アルカロイルグルタミン酸塩、アルカロイル乳酸塩、脂肪酸石けん、塩化アルキルトリメチルアンモニウム、2-アルキル-N-カルボキシメチル-N-ヒドロキシエチルイミダゾリニウムベタイン、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル硫酸塩、アルキルアミドアミン等が挙げられる。
(B)ベントナイト以外に配合可能な粉末成分は、化粧料に通常用いられる粉体であり、多孔質又は無孔質等の粒子構造を問わない。このような粉末成分としては、ナイロン、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリエステル、ポリスチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリスチレン、ポリウレタン、セルロース、シリコーン系樹脂等の有機粉体、ケイ酸マグネシウム、ケイ酸カルシウム、酸化チタン、無水ケイ酸等の無機粉体が挙げられる。これらの中でもセルロース末を配合することが好ましく、かかるセルロース末としては、セルロース又はセルロースエステルから成るものを用いることができる。粉末成分は球状のものが好ましく、製造時の取り扱い性、使用感触、粉末再分散性の観点から、平均粒径3~50μmで、かつ最大粒径100μm以下のものが好ましい。
女性パネラー5名に被験試料を頬部に塗布してもらい、塗布時のなめらかさについてアンケートを行い、以下の基準で評価した。
○:なめらかであると答えたパネラーが4~5名。
△:なめらかであると答えたパネラーが2~3名。
×:なめらかであると答えたパネラーが1名以下。
女性パネラー5名に被験試料を頬部に塗布してもらい、塗布時のさらさら感についてアンケートを行い、以下の基準で評価した。
○:さらさら感があると答えたパネラーが4~5名。
△:さらさら感があると答えたパネラーが2~3名。
×:さらさら感があると答えたパネラーが1名以下。
被験試料をインキュベータにてストローク120mmで1分間に120回の振とう条件で5分間振とうし、その後、遠心分離機を用いて3000rpmで5分間遠心分離し、その上澄みの白濁度を肉眼により、以下の基準で評価した。
○:上澄みの白濁が認められない。
△:上澄みの白濁が若干確認できる。
×:上澄みの白濁が確認できる。
被験試料を遠心分離機を用いて3000rpmで5分間遠心分離し、その後、インキュベータにてストローク120mmで1分間に120回の振とう条件で10回振とうし、容器底部のケーキング状態を、以下の基準で評価した。
○:振とう後に底部に粉末が残っていない。
△:振とう後に底部に粉末が若干残っている。

女性パネラー5名に被験試料を頬部に1ヶ月間1日2回塗布してもらい、角栓の溶解除去について、以下の基準で評価した。
○:角栓溶解除去効果があると答えたパネラーが4~5名。
△:角栓溶解除去効果があると答えたパネラーが2~3名。
×:角栓溶解除去効果があると答えたパネラーが1名以下。

これに対し、コハク酸及びコハク酸ナトリウム、ベントナイト、親水性界面活性剤を含む再分散型粉末分散化粧料(実施例1~5)は、静置時の上澄みがクリアでありながら、振とうにより粉末が容易に分散し、なめらかさ及びさらさら感といった使用感触に優れ、しかも、角栓溶解除去効果にも優れていた。
一方、ベントナイトを含んでいても、親水性界面活性剤を含まない場合(比較例3)には、上澄みに濁りが認められ、振とうによる粉末の分散性も悪かった。また、ベントナイトに代えて、ベントナイトと同じ水膨潤性粉末であるケイ酸アルミニウムマグネシウムを用いた場合(比較例4)には、粉末の分散性を十分に改善できないばかりか、なめらかさやさらさら感といった使用感触も不十分であった。ベントナイトやセルロース末に代えて化粧品に汎用される粉体の一種であるタルクを配合した場合(比較例5)にも、塗布時の使用感触が不十分になり、上澄み白濁度及び底部ケーキング状態も劣る結果となった。さらに、コハク酸及びコハク酸ナトリウムに代えて、角質溶解除去効果を有するとされているクエン酸及びクエン酸ナトリウムを配合した場合(比較例6)には、十分な角栓溶解除去効果が得られなかった。
以下に、本発明の再分散型粉末分散化粧料の処方例を挙げる。本発明はこの処方例によって何ら限定されるものではなく、特許請求の範囲によって特定されるものであることはいうまでもない。尚、配合量は全て製品全量に対する質量%で表す。
