Abstract
The aim of the present invention is to provide a cordless, portable apparatus and a method for generating a hot-air stream which combine the advantages of the short charging time and the high power of combustion-based systems with the advantages of the high level of safety and easy handleability of electrical charging. The hot-air fan according to the invention comprises a heat-storage means, which can be electrically recharged as often as desired, as the only energy source. A portion of the stored thermal energy is converted into mechanical energy for driving the fan by means of a thermal power machine. The waste heat from the thermal power machine serves to heat up the air stream. The drop in temperature in the heat-storage means is counteracted by controlling the flow of heat.
