Abstract

The present invention relates to a white glass tube for replacing plastic which is currently used for "straight tube LED lamps" in the LED lighting field pursued by various countries in the world as part of green growth. The life span of the "straight tube LED lamp" is more than 17 years (50,000 hours or more at 8 hours per day). A plastic cover has the problems of quality in terms of reduction in illumination intensity due to discoloration and reduction in durability due to modifications even when same is used only for 3 years. In order to prevent said problems, a white glass tube for the "straight tube LED lamp" cover is developed to improve upon the existing problems and to provide a "straight tube LED lamp" of stable quality. Preparation of a white glass tube for the "straight tube LED lamp" and the method for manufacturing the glass according to the present invention include a white glass tube for a "straight tube LED lamp" cover manufactured by a process including the preparation of a glass melt containing composition of the following %'s by weight of oxides: 55-75 % by weight of SiO2; 1~10 % by weight of Na2O; 0. 1-5 % by weight of K2O; 0~10 % by weight of BaO; 0~3 % by weight of SrO; 0.5~5 % by weight of A12O3; 0.5~5 % by weight of CaO; 1~5 % by weight of P2O5; 0.1-17 % by weight of Β2O3; 0-5 % by weight of MgO; 0-2 % by weight of TiO2; 0-1 % by weight of CeO2; 0-1 % by weight of As2O3; 0.01-1 % by weight of Fe2O3; and 0~1 % by weight of Sb2O3.
