Abstract
The invention relates to a method for operating an ignition device for a spark plug (ZK) of a motor vehicle, in which device the series connection of the primary winding (PW) of an ignition transformer (ZSP) and of a controllable switching element (IGBT) is connected in parallel with an adjustable energy source (EQ), and in which method, in order to store energy in the magnetic field of the ignition transformer (ZSP) both the energy source (EQ) and the switching element (IGBT) are actuated. In a manner according to the invention, the energy source (EQ) supplies a voltage (VSupply) continually increasing starting from 0V and limited to a maximum value, or a current with an increase rate limited to a maximum value.
