Description

DESCRIPTION
CHIMNEY WITH VENTURI EFFECT
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to chimney-gas drawing systems used to discharge the waste gas in various buildings and housings.
The present invention especially relates to chimney with venturi effect increasing the chimney drawing power by generating a venturi effect, which can be mounted to the chimney and its surroundings, and adjusted depending on the diameter of the chimney.
STATE OF THE ART
Currently, chimney systems are used in order to discharge the waste gas to outside, which is used in the configurations where any kind of fuel can be used for various purposes, such as wood, coal, fuel-oil or natural gas. However, the currently-used chimney system cannot always achieve the desired purpose.
In the state of the art, especially the extra windy air conditions cause a failure in chimney drawing, and therefore it results in many deaths as it causes carbon monoxide intoxications.
In the state of the art, the circular rotating chimneys which have been developed to provide chimney drawing generate a resistance against chimney-drawing when the weather is not windy.
It is known that currently there are applications related with the chimney-gas drawing systems. In one of these applications which is the one with the number 2000/02609, a natural chimney ventilator is disclosed which provides the chimneys with a drawing power by rotating in the same direction with the natural air flow power. The said ventilator comprises a knob screwed to the shaft by means of a nut, a leg bearing the rollers which have been fixed to the shaft, upper cap collecting the wind flaps on the most upper part, a centralizing pulley on the lower part collecting the wind flaps, a base or chassis carrying the whole device, and a roller cap for the roller in the leg. In the other application document numbered 2003/01603, a chimney extractor fan running with wind energy is disclosed. The said extractor fan comprises a valve (flap) station, two valves and two fans mounted to an outer body with an iron construction and the outer body in T-shape made of a metal sheet which can rotate 360-degree by means of a shaft located on the cylindrical inner body made of metal sheet.
Another application document numbered 2008/03012 relates to a natural chimney extractor fan with a radial flap mounted to the chimneys, providing endless rotational movement by making use of wind power, and therefore making it easy to discharge the hot and toxic gases coming out of the chimney. The chimney extractor fan generally comprises a radial flap making a rotational movement by making maximum use of wind power and therefore providing the toxic gases coming out of the chimney to outside, upper plaster cap covered on the radial flap in a way to provide the wind coming from different directions to enable the extractor fan to work without effecting the rotation direction, and in a way to prevent the external water from flowing into the chimney, a chimney connection part providing the extractor fan to be mounted on the chimney without requiring any chimney hood, a lower plaster cap comprising passage holes through which the hot and toxic gases coming from the chimney pass, and serving as a carrier carrying the upper radial flap and the upper plaster cap, which is plastered on the chimney connection part in an impermeable manner.
In the state of the art, as is seen above, the current applications comprise many complicated systems.
Consequently, it is desired to develop the chimney-gas drawing systems, and therefore new embodiments are needed in order to eliminate the above-mentioned shortcomings and to offer solutions for the current systems.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a chimney with venturi effect meeting all the requirements mentioned above, eliminating all the disadvantages and offering some extra advantages.
The object of the present invention is to provide the drawing efficiency of the chimney to be increased by providing a venturi effect by means of the directing flaps mounted to the chimney. Another object of the present invention is to turn the extra windy weathers causing chimney drawing failures in the prior system from disadvantage to advantage, and to provide chimney drawing.
A further object of the present invention is to provide that the resistance against the chimney- drawing that the circular rotational chimneys cause in case of wind absence be eliminated and to provide chimney-drawing at any condition.
A further object of the present invention is to provide that the desired purpose be reached with a simple system instead of the complicated configuration in the current applications.
With these objects, in its most general form, a configuration have been obtained which comprises directing flaps and directing flap gates directing the wind coming from any direction to the chimney inlet, increasing the chimney drawing by decreasing the pressure on the chimney inlet and by proving the air flow to be parallel with the waste gas flow.
The fact that it can be manufactured for the chimneys of any diameter can expand the application field and makes it possible to be mounted to all available chimney systems.
The fact that the directing flap gates expand to all the field in a way to surround the chimney provides the wind to be taken from each direction and to be directed by making it parallel with the waste gas outlet.
The chimney with venturi effect can be adjusted in a way to be connected to all the available chimneys by means of chimney inter-connection element located between the directing flaps and chimney. The chimney inter-connection element makes it possible for chimneys of different diameters to be connected with each other by being arranged in a reduction shape.
The waste gas-air mixture coming out of the outer chimney inlet is directed by means of a chimney cap. Moreover the chimney cap helps the pressure from outside to inside to be prevented and the chimney to be protected against external forces such as rain and snow.
The inner and outer surfaces of the chimney with venturi effect can be connected with each other by means of metal sheet profiles. Therefore an integral configuration is obtained. The wind coming from any direction is directed to the inner chimney inlet by means of curvilinear surfaces on the directing flaps. The curvilinear surfaces provide the air flow to be created in the most desired form.
All the structural and characteristic aspects, and all of the advantages of the present invention will be understood more clearly by means of the following figures and the detailed description written with certain references to the said figures, and therefore the evaluation should be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Chimney is a system used in the configurations using any kind of fuel such as wood, coal, fuel-oil or natural gas for many purposes. Its function is to take the toxic and waste gas from the inner part and to discharge it to outside by means of pipes and channels. In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the chimney with venturi effect (1) according to the present invention are described in order to make the subject understood better without posing any effect limiting the scope of the invention.
The chimney with venturi effect (1) according to the present invention shown in Figure 1 comprises a chimney (10) on which the directing flaps (20) have been mounted and which is used to discharge the waste gas (50) to outside (60), chimney inter-connection element (40) located between the chimney (10) and directing flaps (20), directing flaps (20) directing the wind (70) coming from any direction to the inner chimney inlet (11), and chimney cap (30) directing the discharged waste gas-air mixture (72).
The chimney with venturi effect (1) is mounted on the chimney (10) after the chimney interconnection element (40) as one single part. The inner and outer surfaces of the chimney with venturi effect (1) are connected with each other by means of metal sheet profiles (23). The directing flap inlets (21) have been designed in a way to be open for all directions so as to receive the wind (70) coming from each direction. The chimney cap (30) provides the waste gas-air mixture (72) discharged from the outer chimney inlet (12) to . be directed and the chimney (10) to be protected against the external forces such as rain and snow. The chimney cap curvilinear surface (31) provides the direction process to be performed in a proper manner. Moreover, the chimney cap (30) helps the potential air pressure from outside (60) to inside of the chimney (10) to be prevented.
By means of the directing flaps (20) providing venturi effect on the chimney with venturi effect (1) mounted on the chimneys (10) located in the buildings, it will be provided to improve the chimney (10) drawing with the wind (70) blowing from any direction. The chimney with venturi effect (1) is used after having been mounted to the chimney (10). Its object is to improve the drawing efficiency of the chimney (10) of any diameter. The waste gas-air mixture (72) discharged from the outer chimney inlet (12) is directed with a chimney cap (30).
The directing flaps (20) shown in Figure 1 direct the wind (7) coming from any direction towards the inner chimney inlet (11). This direction is provided by means of curvilinear surfaces (22). The curvilinear surface (22) makes the air flow (71) parallel with the waste gas (50) flow. The air flow (71) proceeds between the directing flaps (20) and the chimney (10). Therefore, the pressure on the inner chimney inlet (11) is decreased, and an air flow (71) parallel with the waste gas (50) outlet is generated, and the drawing is performed towards direction of the air flow (71). At the outlet of the inner chimney inlet (1 ), the gas-air mixture (72) is created and the discharge is provided from the outer chimney inlet (12) by means of the air flow. This type of drawing is called as venturi effect.
The working principle of the present invention;
• The wind (70) coming from any direction is directed to the inner chimney inlet (11) by means of directing flap gates (21),
• The wind (70) directed to the inner chimney inlet (11) decreases the pressure on the inner chimney inlet (11) and a drawing force is generated with a parallel flow towards the direction of air flow (71 ),
• The waste gas-air mixture (72) discharged from the chimney (10) is directed to any direction by means of a chimney cap (30).
