Abstract

頭部装着式ディスプレイ装置１は、２次元画像を表示する画像表示素子１０と、画像表示素子１０を拡大表示する接眼レンズ２０と、画像表示素子１０と接眼レンズ２０を保持する保持機構３０とから構成され、観察者の眼球１０１は、接眼レンズ２０を通して、画像表示素子１０に表示される画像の拡大虚像１０１０を観察できる。　画像表示素子１０は、マトリックス型の２次元表示装置であって、中央部１１が平板状であり、左右側部１２ａ，１２ｂは、水平方向の断面が、中央部１１の延長線よりも接眼レンズ２０に近づくよう湾曲された板状である。画像表示素子１０では、中央部１１と比べて面側部１２ａ，１２ｂで画素サイズが大きい。
