Abstract
The invention relates to authentication system via video call and the method for use of this system comprising user equipment 1 (1 ) providing the user with the facility to view the website pages, user equipment 2 (2) that can receive video calls, internet network (3) providing viewing of the websites via the user equipment 1 (1 ), GSM network (4) providing video call service, and web server (5) wherein data confirmation images are published, and it is characterized in that; it comprises: video server (6), which has video call and image processing feature, and which performs authentication operation on video via the image processing feature.
Description
DESCRIPTION
AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD VIA VIDEO CALL The Related Art
The invention relates to the system providing extra security measure during entering internet banking by bank customers. The system is applied in the internet banking applications presently used by banks in addition to the method wherein entrance is made by user name and password via making video call using 3G technology through the GSM operator used by the user who wants to enter the application.
The Prior Art In the prior art method used by banks, the user enters the internet banking site of the bank and enters his/her user name and password to the relevant areas. Afterwards, the password placed within the SMS text sent to the mobile device of the user through the GSM network' is entered by the user to the relevant place placed in the internet banking site. In the prior art, user authentication is made in this way.
Nowadays, in this method, security gaps are formed in the mobile communication devices of the users by using SMS forwarder applications that are loaded in the relevant devices via like Bluetooth or different methods of wireless communication techniques. With these methods, it would be adequate for ill-intentioned people, who can access the one time password within the mobile communication device of the user and know the user name and the password defined by the user for internet banking. Therefore, this method used in the prior art forms a serious security gap.
As a result, the above said drawbacks and the inadequacy of the prior solutions about the subject have necessitated improvement in the related technical field.
Purpose of the Invention
The invention is formed by being inspired from the prior art and aims to solve the above said problems.
Purpose of the invention is to eliminate the security gap of the prior art occurring as a result of sending SMS texts to different phones.
Another purpose of the invention is to increase security confirmation made by the- internet banking application.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide a system that has a more secure method than the method of authorization by SMS used in the prior art. In order to achieve the above said purposes, the invention relates to authentication system via video call and the method for use of this system comprising user equipment 1 providing the user with the facility to view the website pages, user equipment 2 that can receive video calls, internet network providing viewing of the websites via the user equipment 1 , GSM network providing video call service, and web server wherein data confirmation displays are published, and it is characterized in that; it comprises: video server, which has video call and image processing feature, and which performs authentication operation on video via the image processing feature.
The structural and characteristic features of the invention and all advantages will be understood better in detailed descriptions with the figures given below and with reference to the figures, and therefore, the assessment should be made taking into account the said figures and detailed explanations.

Detailed Description of the Invention In this detailed description, the preferred authentication system and method via video call, which is the subject of the invention, will only be disclosed for better understanding of the subject, and will not form any limiting effect.
Components of the authentication system via video call of the invention are user equipment 1 (1), user equipment 2 (2), internet network (3), GSM network (4), web server (5), and video server (6). Preferred infrastructure of the invention would be applied by the banks that use internet banking among banking applications at the internet banking entrance pages and the video call module placed in the internet page would be used under the control of the bank by providing connection to a GSM operator or to any operator providing video call service.
For operation of the system, which is the subject of the invention, user has to have a user equipments (2) that is at least third generation, that is to say, has 3G supported mobile communication infrastructure, at least has 3G service from the GSM operator, and said equipment 2 (2) has to be within the 3G coverage area.
In the method of authentication via video call, which is the subject of the invention, first of all, the user enters the user name and password to the internet banking website. Afterwards, a video call is initated by the bank to the equipment 2 (2) belonging to the user through the GSM network used by the user. Following answering of the call by the user, an informing visual is shown to the user on the screen of user equipment 2 (2). This informing visual informs the user about how the video to be started on the internet banking website entrance page should be shown to user equipment 2 (2) within the predetermined period. With this informing visual, the user shows the video placed on said page to the camera of user equipment 2 (2). Images synchronized through the page and the video call system are processed and permission for entrance is given to the user if the predetermined images captured on the page with predetermined intervals. Image series to be shown for entrance has different arrangement and image content for each attempt of entrance. In this way, a safer method of entrance would be provided than the method of authentication with SMS
used in the prior art. Moreover, security level can be increased by changing the number, content, and the time intervals of images.
Operation steps of the method of authentication via video call, which is the subject of the invention, are as follows:
- User opens the web page he/she wants to enter on the user equipment 1 (1 ) using any internet browser through the internet network (3),
- Enters the username and password to relevant areas at the entrance page, and - Confirmation of the username and the password by the web server (5),
- Transmission of video call request by the video server (6) to the user equipment 2 (2) defined for the user through the GSM network (4),
- Answer of video call request by the user,
- Video call is started through the GSM network (4) by the video server (6),
- On the screen of the user equipment 1 (1 ) owned by the user, playing of the informing visual including the information of showing the image placed on the said homepage to the camera of the user equipment 2 (2),
- Video server (6) determines the constant image placed on the entrance page through the web server (5) by using image processing method,
- Video server (6) sends the request of playing video to the web server (5),
- Web server (5) informs the video server (6) about the predetermined video to be played about that operation,
- Web server (5) plays the video at said page on the screen of user equipment 1 (1 ),
- The user shows the image placed at said page on the screen of user equipment 1 (1 ) to the camera placed on user equipment 2 (2),
- Video server (6) checks whether the characteristics of the image sent by the web server (5) matches with the characteristics of the image coming from the user equipment 2 (2) camera,
- In the case of matching of said image characteristics, video server (6) informs the web server (5) about completion of entrance authentication.
It was previously mentioned that the preferred infrastructure of the present invention would be applied to internet banking homepages by the banks using internet banking applications. In this case, user equipment 1 (1 ) can be fixed or mobile communication device such as desktop computer, laptop computer etc. User equipment 2 (2), which has built-in camera and internet access, can receive SMS text and video call, and is at least third generation, or
in other words, is 3G supported communication device like mobile phone (2). Web server (5) is the bank server 1 (5) wherein internet banking would be provided and the data authentication images would be published. Video server (6) is the bank server 2 (6), which provides making video call and makes authentication operation on video via image processing feature. Together with this information, the way of usage of the system of authentication via video call in internet banking applications is described in detail below.
The usage of video call authentication system in internet banking is as follows: User opens the website page he/she wants to enter on the computer (1 ) using any internet browser through the internet network (3) via the bank server 1 . He/She enters the username and password to relevant areas at the entrance page. The username and the password are confirmed by the bank server 1 (5). Video call request is made by the bank server 2 (6) to the mobile phone number defined for the user through the GSM network (4). User answers the video call. Bank server 2 (6) starts video call through the GSM network (4). On the screen of the computer (1 ) owned by the user, the informing visual including the information of showing the image placed on said page to the camera of the mobile phone (2) is played. Bank server 2 (2) determines the static image displayed on the page through the bank server 1 (5) using image processing method. Bank server 2 (2) sends the request of playing video to the bank server 1 (1). Bank server 1 (5) informs the bank server 2 (6) about the predetermined video to be played about that operation. Bank server 1 (5) plays the video at the page on the screen of the computer (1 ). The user shows the image displayed at said page on the screen of the computer (1 ) to the camera placed on the mobile phone (2). Bank server 2 (6) checks whether the characteristics of the image sent by the bank server 1 (5) matches with the characteristics of the image coming from the mobile phone (2) camera. In the case of matching of said image characteristics, bank server 2 (6) informs the bank server 1 (5) about completion of entrance authentication. In this way, entrance operation is authenticated with the request of entrance by the user, who holds the phone number registered in the system and knows the information to enter the system. The video server (bank server 2) (6), which performs the most important function of the invention, both has the features of making video call and image processing. All the predetermined videos that can be played by the web server (5) are defined in the video server (6). Moreover, the specifiers that would provide selection in the image processing method to be used for authentication of these videos are defined. At the same time, required parameters for preventing video call termination systems and call forwarding methods are configured on the video server (6) in a way that they would be determined through the adaptations to be made with GSM network (4).
In the alternative infrastructure of the invention, this system, increasing security according to the prior art independent from the types and characteristics of the materials to be used in the system, can be used in security authentication infrastructures of various websites with different purposes. The usage area of the system is not only limited to internet and it can also be used in applications comprising screen and image processing features and requiring closed system authentication.
Claims
1. An authentication system via video call comprising user equipment 1 (1 ) providing the user with the facility to view the website pages, user equipment 2 (2) that can receive video calls, internet network (3) providing viewing of the websites via the user equipment 1 (1), GSM network (4) providing video call feature, and web server (5) wherein data confirmation images are published, and it is characterized in that; it comprises: video server (6), which has video call and image processing features, and which performs authentication operation on video via the image processing feature.
2. Authentication system via video call according to claim 1 and it is characterized in that; said user equipment 1 (1) is communication device having internet access such as desktop computer, laptop computer, pocket computer, mobile phone etc., and
said user equipment 2 (2) is communication device, which can receive SMS text and video call, such as pocket computer, mobile phone etc. and is at least third generation, or in other words, has 3G supported mobile communication infrastructure.

Authentication system via video call according to claims 1 , and it is characterized in that; internet banking user equipment 1 (1 ) is communication device having internet access such as desktop computer, laptop computer, pocket computer, mobile phone etc. wherein internet banking entrance page is displayed,
web server 1 (5) is bank server 1 (5) wherein internet banking would be provided and the data authentication images would be published, and said video server (6) is bank server 2 (6), which checks whether the image characteristics sent from the bank server 1 (5) matches with the image characteristics coming from the user equipment 1 (1), and in case of matching, which sends the completion information of entrance authentication to the bank server 1 (5).
4. A method of authentication via video call comprising the operation steps of: opening of the website page, whichthe user wants to enter, on the user equipment 1 (1) by the user by means of any internet browser through the internet network (3),
Entering of username and password to relevant areas at the entrance page by the user and
Confirmation of the username and the password by the web server (5), and it is characterized in that; it comprises the operation steps of:
Transmission of video call request defined for the user by the video server (6) to the user equipment 2 (2) through the GSM network (4),
Answering of video call by the user,
Starting of video call through the GSM network (4) by the video server (6), On the screen of the user equipment 1 (1 ) owned by the user, playing of the informing visual comprising the information that describes showing the image placed on said entrance page to the camera placed on the user equipment 2 (2),
Determining of the static image placed on the entrance page by video server (6) through the web server (5) by using image processing method, Sending of the request of playing video to the web server (5), by video server (6),
Informing of the video server (6) about the predetermined video to be played about that operation, by web server (5),
playing of the video at said entrance page on the screen of user equipment 1 (1 ), by web server (5),
Showing of the image placed at said entrance page on the screen of user equipment 1 (1) to the camera placed on user equipment 2 (2), by user, Checking of whether the characteristics of the image sent by the web server (5) matches with the characteristics of the image coming from the user equipment 2 (2) camera, by video server (6),
In the case of matching of said image characteristics, informing of the web server (5) by video server (6) about completion of entrance authentication.
5. Authentication method via video call according to claim 4 and it is characterized in that; said user equipment 1 (1) is communication device having internet access such as desktop computer, laptop computer, pocket computer, mobile phone etc., and
said user equipment 2 (2) is communication device, which can receive SMS text and video call, such as pocket computer, mobile phone etc. and is at least third generation, or in other words, has 3G supported mobile communication infrastructure.

Authentication method via video call according to claims 4, and it is characterized in that; internet banking user equipment 1 (1) is communication device having internet access such as desktop computer, laptop computer, pocket computer, mobile phone etc. wherein internet banking entrance page is displayed,
web server 1 (5) is bank server 1 (5) wherein internet banking would be . provided and the data authentication images would be published, and said video server (6) is bank server 2 (6), which checks whether the image characteristics sent from the bank server 1 (5) matches with the image characteristics coming from the user equipment 1 (1), and in case of matching, which sends the completion information of entrance authentication to the bank server 1 (5).
