Abstract
An antimicrobial martensitic stainless steel comprises (by wt%) 0.35-1.20 C, 12.00-26.90 Cr, 0.29-4.60 Cu, 0.27 or less Ag, 0.15-4.60 W, 0.27-2.80 Ni, 0.01-1.25 Nb, 0.01-1.35 V, 1.8 or less Mn, 0.15-4.90 Mo, 2.6 or less Si, 3.6 or less rare earth, balance Fe and incidental impurities. A method for producing the steel is also provided.
